Following his retirement, Tom Brady stepped into the role of lead game analyst and color commentator for the NFL on Fox Sports, while also acquiring a minority ownership stake in the Las Vegas Raiders.
Many have questioned Brady’s dual role due to potential conflicts of interest and limitations imposed by the NFL, but the legendary quarterback has fired back, saying he is solely focused on preparing and proving himself as a broadcaster.
Tom Brady Fired Back on Concerns Over His Role With Fox and the Raiders
In an interview with Sports Business Journal that offered an inside look at Fox Sports’ NFL broadcasting team, Brady said his long-term commitment to broadcasting has never wavered despite concerns about his ownership stake in the Raiders.
“It’s clickbait for people and it’s something that people have no idea what they’re really glomming onto,” Brady told SBJ, regarding his preparedness given the strict rules the NFL has imposed on him.
“They just put it out there in the world and see what sticks. So to me, I just focus on what I need to do to be prepared. That’s what I did as a player, and I go out there every week as a broadcaster and try to do the same thing.”
“I have a lot to prove to myself, to my teammates. I have a lot to prove to the executives,” Brady continued. “I want to go earn it and I don’t want anything given to me. I hope they’ll have me through the end of this contract. I love getting to enjoy the game. I love watching good football.”
“There’s such great camaraderie and chemistry we all have together. We have seminars. We have off-site retreats. We have text threads with all of us. It feels like a big family in so many ways, and I was not really expecting that when I decided to take the job.”

SBJ writers Richard Deitsch and Austin Karp also shared that Brady “plans to fulfill his 10-year, $375 million deal with Fox” if Lachlan Murdoch and Executive Producers Eric Shanks and Brad Zager ultimately want to keep him around long-term.
According to Awful Announcing, Fox Sports’ “A” team of Kevin Burkhardt and Tom Brady ranked ninth among all NFL broadcast booths in 2025. For reference, the duo ranked 14th the year prior, marking a noticeable improvement in Brady’s second season.

Brady, arguably one of the hardest workers and most prepared individuals in NFL history, could very well take another step in the broadcast booth in 2026 and establish himself as one of the sport’s best analysts.
His first task for the upcoming season will be to call the game between the Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Commanders, as Jalen Hurts and Jayden Daniels will both try to bounce back after challenging seasons in 2025.
