Believe it or not, it’s already his 6th season in the NFL, and Jordan Love remains one of the more intriguing pocket passers in fantasy football.
Should You Draft Jordan Love in Fantasy Football?
Love, the Green Bay Packers signal caller, is one of the quarterbacks that sometimes goes overlooked in fantasy football conversations.
As of early September, Love has an ADP of 148, a PFN rank between Jason Katz and Kyle Soppe of 141, and a projection of 15.5 points per game. He’s only QB18 among positional ranks, but he was 34th on PFN’s top 100 earlier in the summer, and he had a PFN QB impact score of 85.1 last year, which was fourth in the NFL and the best of Love’s career. He also generated 0.26 EPA per dropback, which was second in the NFL only behind Drake Maye, and his 5.5 completion percentage over expectation was also third in the league.
We can go down the line with the advanced metrics. He had the lowest inaccurate throw percentage and the lowest interception rate of his entire career. The film is excellent, and all empirical metrics placed Love as not only a sleeper but a potential top 5 to 10 QB in the league. The analytics are very much in his favor.
We know that there’s not always an equal correlation between analytics and fantasy football points. That’s a different thing. But I think on film, the balance of gunslinger fearlessness and risk aversion is becoming more fine-tuned. He’s smart, poised, methodical, platform diverse, with the guts and the elite physical talent to elevate at his maximum. He’s long had the confidence of a true franchise-caliber QB. He’s now starting to truly become one.
But you look at the Packers, and they’ve been bottom 5 in passing play percentage over the past two seasons, and Love’s rushing production as a fantasy asset has been marginal, to say the least. There were no touchdowns on the ground in 2025, and that was the first time in his starting career that he did not score on the ground. You also have an offense that’s somewhat dependent on game scripts. When they’re in a positive game script and can run the ball more often, that doesn’t bode well for Love’s volume.
But the Packers play in the NFC North with a defense that’s decent but suspect in a few key spots, and I’m willing to bet they’re going to be playing in a lot of close games. In my opinion, as long as Love is healthy, he’ll get passable volume as a passer, and he’s potentially due for an upward efficiency regression and increased availability. You also factor in that as a runner, he’s not the most opportunistic or the most productive, but that athleticism is there to potentially mine into if Matt LaFleur wanted to do that.
But the question with Love ultimately is this: Will the fantasy production catch up to his on-field excellence that is quantifiable in the metrics? The answer, in my opinion, is that at his value of QB18, well outside the top 100, it is very much worth the risk to try to find out. It’s a hard yes for me in superflex leagues. He’s a savvy bargain option with QB1 upside and high-end QB2 potential as well in redraft leagues, who gives you the draft flexibility that you need to fully fill out your roster.

Jordan Love’s Week 1 Fantasy Outlook

I think there’s a strong argument for Love to break out this season, and I’m going to end up with him in DFS settings with regularity, but he’s struggled in consecutive games against the Vikes, and I worry that we could see that continue to open 2025.
He’s been held under 200 passing yards in each of those contests with just 1 touchdown toss on 51 pass attempts. There’s a learning curve to be assumed for this Packers offense if it actually does condense its targets this season after letting a pair of receivers walk this offseason: lose the battle to win the war.
As Christian Watson and Matthew Golden get accustomed to increased usage, the upside cases will present themselves. The same is true as Tucker Kraft nears full strength/game shape.
I’m projecting a nice fantasy step forward this season, but I think it starts next week in Gotham against the Jets. Love gave us just 6 top-15 finishes a season ago, and it’s fair to want to see proof of concept before exposing yourself to what could be a rollercoaster of a season.
