Justin Jefferson was the reason plenty of fantasy football teams failed in 2025. Very few blame #18 for those failures, but they happened. Minnesota’s star receiver enters 2026 with a little more clarity at the quarterback position, and that has managers comfortable in a bounce-back season with a late-first/early-second-round ADP.

Should You Draft Justin Jefferson in Fantasy Football?
In PFN’s Free Fantasy Mock Draft Simulator, Jefferson currently has an ADP of 12.4. Depending on how many people are in your league, that’s a late-first-round, early-second-round pick. That’s a round where PFN’s fantasy football experts Jason Katz and Kyle Soppe have him. Combined, they have him ranked 12th on the PFN consensus board. He’s currently projected at 17.2 points per game in a PPR league.
The big question with Jefferson is what the quarterback situation is going to look like, because last year it wasn’t pretty in Minnesota. J.J. McCarthy ranked just 34th among 38 qualified quarterbacks in PFN QB Impact scoring.
The accuracy was a major issue. Jefferson, by his standards, had a down year. He was still able to reach that 1,000-yard receiving mark, but it wasn’t that perennial All-Pro sort of production that we’ve been used to seeing from Jefferson over the course of his career, especially with Kirk Cousins and with Sam Darnold earlier.
Kyler Murray is projected to be the starting quarterback for the Vikings. He’ll be starting Week 1 at least, and it remains to be seen exactly how he’s going to do as the starter.
However, I have faith in Kyler, especially considering what he did before 2025 at Arizona. He was a league-average to even an above-average starting quarterback. Coming off of last year, Arizona just didn’t want to pay him. They’re in a rebuilding phase and didn’t see the need to keep him around.
But for a team like Minnesota, where you go 9-8 coming off of pretty bad quarterback play, even when you had Carson Wentz, it wasn’t much better. You could certainly argue it wasn’t better at all. The bar is really, really low for Minnesota as far as quarterback play goes. I think Jefferson’s going to have the opportunity to make more plays with better quarterback play.
I’m going to say draft Jefferson. If he’s available around that 12th-pick range, we’ve seen what he can do with even just competent quarterback play. I think that he’d be a relatively high-upside pick.
He’s still got a high floor, because I think that last season, as far as a healthy season goes, is the worst that Jefferson could do, and he’s still an easy 1,000-yard receiver type of guy. If you get him healthy and you get even just competent quarterback play, which I think Kyler can do, that’s definitely worth taking a shot on late first, early second round.

Justin Jefferson’s Week 1 Fantasy Outlook

We are nearing 11 months since the last time Jefferson had a 30-yard reception. That feels like an impossibility, but if you rostered him at all last season, you’re not surprised.
Relax. You drafted him for the rebound season, and this very much could give you confidence in that decision.
Jefferson has earned double-digit targets in each of his past five home games against this divisional rival, and this is a Green Bay defense that allowed a receiver to reach 16.5 PPR points 11 different times a season ago. Even more encouraging in terms of the matchup is that featured options were the ones doing the heavy lifting against GB a season ago.
George Pickens: 33.4 points in Week 4
Jameson Williams: 26.9 points in Week 13
Ja’Marr Chase: 25.1 points in Week 6
Courtland Sutton: 24.3 points in Week 15
Even when a name was circled on the scouting report, this defense struggled to take him away. You drafted Jefferson with confidence in a new-look offense, and I think you’re locking him into your Week 1 with similar levels of optimism.
