‘Tom Brady, What Are We Doing?’ — USWNT Legend Megan Rapinoe Calls Out NFL Icon’s ‘Bizarre’ Fake Beef With Logan Paul

Megan Rapinoe questions Tom Brady’s staged Logan Paul feud, calling the viral slap and rivalry a bizarre use of his platform.

Tom Brady has built his reputation on football excellence, but his recent public rivalry has taken him into a very different field. His ongoing back-and-forth with Logan Paul has mixed sports, entertainment, and social media theatrics in ways that have left some fans puzzled.

That includes U.S. soccer icon Megan Rapinoe, who questioned why Brady would spend his platform on a staged-looking feud. Her comments put the unusual rivalry under a different kind of scrutiny.

Megan Rapinoe Takes Aim at Brady’s Logan Paul Showdown

Rapinoe discussed Brady while answering a question on her podcast, “Why Are You Like This?” about the most overrated public figure she had encountered. Rather than dismissing Brady entirely, she made clear that her criticism centered on his recent behavior and the way he has used his platform.

“Sorry to this person in advance,” Rapinoe said. “But I think, especially in light of recent events, and with the platform and capital available in what is a world that needs role models, capital, like people doing cool (expletive) with their money and whatever. I’m like Tom Brady, what are we doing? Why are we doing that?”

Rapinoe then drew a distinction between Brady’s new projects and the feud with Paul. She said she respected Brady for trying broadcasting and appreciated public figures who are willing to take on unfamiliar challenges.

“I am like, cool, do your broadcasting. I thought he got a lot better. I like people trying new things,” Rapinoe said. “I really respect people a lot who, like, struggle publicly, especially public figures, and are just like, ‘Hey, I’m trying my best.’”

Her issue came with the increasingly theatrical exchanges involving Paul. The pair first traded jabs when Brady appeared on Paul’s “IMPAULSIVE” podcast in February. Brady dismissed comparisons between NFL competition and WWE, while Paul later gained bragging rights after his team beat Brady’s squad at the Fanatics Flag Football Classic.

The headline became even more theatrical at Fanatics Fest in July. Brady slapped Paul during a confrontation, although footage indicated the contact was part of the staged performance. Two days later, the pair continued the act at the 2026 FIFA World Cup final at MetLife Stadium.

Rapinoe questioned why Brady needed to participate in that kind of promotion, given his standing.

“And I’m like, what’s up with the slap and the fake beef? I’m confused. Like, why do we need to do that? I don’t think we need to,” she said. “It feels like a weird bit. That is bizarre. So that’s that.”

Her criticism still stopped short of dismissing Brady altogether. Rapinoe acknowledged his accomplishments and influence, while questioning how he was choosing to use them.

“Because otherwise, I think he’s like really impressive in a lot of ways and has the ability to be an incredibly like influential figure in so many ways, and then you’re like slapping some dude on the ear,” Rapinoe said.

The feud has reportedly been tied to possible WWE plans involving Brady, which helps explain its wrestling-style presentation.
