For the past few weeks, almost every conversation around Sophie Cunningham has circled back to her ESPN comments about not wanting transgender athletes in the WNBA, and her stated wish to protect young girls in the locker room.
But this week, the conversation around Cunningham has taken a very different turn, thanks to some old interviews resurfacing online.
Sophie Cunningham’s Old Revelation Regarding NBA Players Is Going Viral
A clip from an episode of the “Like a Farmer” podcast featuring Cunningham, which was initially released back in February of this year, is currently going viral on X.
In the clip, Cunningham can be heard talking about how the guys in the NBA don’t even come close to what WNBA players talk about behind the scenes.
“I think what people don’t understand is, like, the WNBA is so inappropriate… We are just like a funny… Well yeah, tight-knit. But I’m talking about, like, we’ve had people who work for the WNBA, and they go to the NBA and NBA guys, and what they do and what they talk about and all that doesn’t even come close to how, like, how, I don’t know. Like, we’re wild,” Cunningham said during the podcast back in February.
She even admitted she couldn’t repeat most of what actually gets said, laughing it off as just part of the fun, loose atmosphere in the league.
“We say some crazy, crazy stuff. And just like, we’re just a fun time over in the W. I don’t know. And I can’t, I can’t repeat a lot of things that I’ve said. Yeah, I’m with you,” Cunningham added.

Interestingly, this isn’t the only old clip of Cunningham blowing up right now. Over the past week, a snippet from her appearance on Caleb Pressley’s “Sundae Conversation,” originally posted in December of 2025, has also been making the rounds.
In that interview, Pressley didn’t hold back and asked Cunningham a pretty direct question about whether female athletes should look at platforms like OnlyFans as a financial backup plan, especially given how modest WNBA salaries can be.
Cunningham pointed out that leagues are actually what give athletes a platform in the first place, since that’s where the fanbase and exposure come from. When Pressley pushed back and said OnlyFans could stand on its own as a platform, the Fever guard joked that it should really be supporting women’s basketball instead.
“No, I think you do need the leagues, because that’s what gives you the platform to have all these fans… Maybe Plan B should support that platform,” Cunningham said during the show.
On the court, Cunningham is currently averaging 8.3 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game. Those numbers may not be enough to dominate the headlines, but her old interviews have certainly attracted plenty of attention.
