‘Downfall Coming Soon,’ ‘We’re Cooked’ — Seahawks Fans Panic As New Team Owner Vinod Khosla Admits Fandom of AFC Team

The new ownership group for the Seattle Seahawks may have made a huge blunder by admitting to their fandom of other NFL teams.

The official sale for the Seattle Seahawks is complete. As directed by Paul Allen, his sister took care of the proceedings for both the Portland Trail Blazers and the Seahawks after his demise, with plans to eventually sell them off, and the proceeds going towards philanthropy.

She has handled both requests to the best of her ability. However, the new owners who took over the reigning Super Bowl champions haven’t fully endeared themselves to the team’s rabid fan base.

Seahawks Fans Didn’t Get What They Hoped for

The new ownership is led by the Khosla Group, under the leadership of Vinod Khosla, an Indian businessman who’s been in the United States for nearly half a century. Finally, the NFL owners on Wednesday voted unanimously to approve the $9.612 billion sale.

However, since the deal went through, fans have learned a few details that have left them perplexed. The first comes from Khosla’s son, Neal Khosla, who has been a fan of their divisional rivals, the San Francisco 49ers, ever since he was a child.

“He said Neal Khosla has attended roughly half the 49ers’ home games since he was 5 years old, with Neeru Khosla saying their son was the driving force in their decision to buy the Seahawks,” ESPN’s Brady Henderson shared in his report.

Moreover, things got worse for the fans, as Khosla himself confessed, “I also happened to come to this country in ’76 when the Steelers were winning Super Bowls. So actually, I was originally and still am a big Steelers fan.”

Unfortunately, his comments did not pan out well with the Seattle fan base. One member of their fandom outright confessed, “The more I listen to this guy talk, the less I like him.”

Another fan lamented his fate, “Sold my beloved football club to 49ers and Steelers fans.”

But it didn’t end there. One fan was so perplexed by Khosla’s confession that he wondered aloud, “What’s up with you, man?”

Another fan believed their allegiances were compromised, thereby ruining their chances: “We got sold to a Steelers fan with a 49ers fan son, we’re cooked.”

However, for others, the lack of deep-rooted support for their own team compromised the two, as one fan claimed, “Buying a team you never actively rooted for is proof that you look at it strictly as a business venture. Seahawks’ downfall coming soon.”

Another fan hilariously poked fun at Khosla, claiming, “Of course, we get an owner that likes our 3rd-most hated team.”

The business venture once again came about, given that the father-son duo were not originally fans of the Seahawks. As one fan wrote, “Dad’s a Steelers fan, and the son’s a Niners fan, this is nothing more than a business venture for them.”

It remains to be seen how their tenure shakes out. But fresh off winning a Super Bowl, the expectations are undeniably going to be very high for what this Seahawks team can achieve. As a result, after a rough first impression, the new ownership group will have to win over the fan base with results.
