Griffin is reportedly launching a weekly late-night sports show, “The Stepback with Blake Griffin,” teaming up with Prime Video, Wondery, and YouTube to bring the new project to life.
The Hollywood Reporter was the first outlet to report on Griffin’s upcoming talk show. According to the report, new episodes will be released every Tuesday. The announcement has already caught the attention of NBA fans, with many expressing excitement about seeing him take on a new role.

Griffin spent 14 years in the NBA, playing for the Los Angeles Clippers, Detroit Pistons, Brooklyn Nets, and Boston Celtics before moving to a career in media entertainment.

In a quote obtained by The Hollywood Reporter, Griffin explained that his inspiration for the program came from recognizable variety talk shows that have become staples of television.
“I’ve watched and idolized shows like The Daily Show and Last Week Tonight, so to follow in their footsteps while putting my own stamp on the genre is an amazing opportunity that I’m grateful to take part in,” he said.
The show will largely center on Griffin’s opinions and perspectives on major topics across the sports world, including NIL, taxpayer-funded stadiums, gambling, and other issues.
Unlike many traditional talk shows, the program generally will not rely on celebrity guests. Instead, Griffin’s own commentary and personality will provide most of the entertainment and discussion.
Griffin was also familiar with the entertainment industry long before joining Amazon’s NBA coverage. The retired NBA star previously appeared in a four-episode series titled “Comedy by Blake” with Funny or Die and has explored stand-up comedy, including performances at the Laugh Factory in Los Angeles.
“The Stepback with Blake Griffin” is scheduled to debut on October 20.
