The NFL has always adopted some unusual choices during the preseason in the announcing booth. This year, though, featured a first-of-its-kind appearance as actress Brenda Song took up the role of an analyst for her beloved Los Angeles Rams.
As they took on the New Orleans Saints, she was an enthusiastic presence throughout the game. But for Jason Brown, who became a household name thanks to “Last Chance U,” her work was far from satisfactory.
Brenda Song Fails to Impress Jason Brown
A resident of Los Angeles, Song has made her sports fandom known for years. From appearing courtside for the Los Angeles Lakers to her fascination with the Rams, she’s embraced the biggest teams in the city.
As a result, it was a wildly exciting time for her as she stepped into the commentary booth, even if it was a preseason game. Her energy was refreshing as she brought a unique enthusiasm to the booth, cheering on the Rams at virtually every turn.
However, Brown wasn’t a fan.
As Los Angeles went the distance on a pick-six, Song seemed just as excited as the team itself for their success. But the star of the hit Netflix documentary couldn’t buy into it. Instead, he called her out on X.
“No way she’s being paid to do this, right?”

A star of the documentary television series, he was a key focus of the show for its third and fourth seasons when they featured Independence Community College in Kansas as the centerpiece.
For the most part, fans found both positives and negatives with the work Song did in the booth. But Brown was clearly not a fan, despite the genuine love the ‘Running Point’ star showcased for the sport.
In a viral clip on social media, she could be seen talking about the roster the Rams were supporting, showcasing her passion and knowledge for the team and its whereabouts.
“The fact that we have the reigning Defensive Player of the Year playing with the MVP is so exciting. And Myles Garrett is just, he’s incredible. I feel so lucky that we get to see him in this stadium. And I’m just so excited. I missed football so much, guys.”
Even though her passion was undeniable, her adjustment to the commentary booth wasn’t seamless, as some people weren’t a huge fan of her side gig.
