After an injury scare, Caitlin Clark took over in the third quarter to secure a crucial Indiana Fever victory Friday night. The Fever superstar guard poured in 17 points right after halftime to help Indiana gain momentum and eventually flip the script on the Dallas Wings.
Clark pushed the Fever to a 98-87 win and helped solidify their hold on a favorable playoff seed. And if that was not enough, the franchise rubbed salt on Wings’ wounds with a sly dig at Paige Bueckers.

The matchup lived up to the hype surrounding the two talented WNBA point guards, as Bueckers traded baskets with Clark all night, keeping Dallas competitive through the first three quarters.
Bueckers finished with 29 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists in a brilliant individual effort. She navigated pick-and-roll coverages with ease and forced the Fever into tough rotational choices.
However, Clark simply found another gear when her team needed it most. The Fever star briefly went to the locker room in the second quarter with an ankle tweak, but the panic lasted only until she returned for the third quarter and completely dismantled the Dallas perimeter defense.
The Fever social media team wasted no time enjoying the win and hopped online to troll Bueckers and the Wings, posting a “night night” message just moments after the final buzzer.

The post mirrored the confidence and the swagger of an Indiana franchise that has now won eight of its last 10 games.
Besides Clark, Kelsey Mitchell proved reliable and efficient again, dropping 23 points to notch her 18th consecutive game with at least 20 points.
Tyasha Harris also broke out of a brutal shooting slump in spectacular fashion. Harris had not hit a field goal in her previous six games but caught fire against Dallas, knocking down all five of her shot attempts, all of them coming from three-point range.
Aliyah Boston secured the paint with 16 points and 10 rebounds, doing the bulk of her damage when it mattered most.
Dallas struggled to match the physical intensity inside. Without consistent rim protection, the Wings allowed Stephanie White’s team to shoot clean looks near the basket.
Arike Ogunbowale chipped in 20 points for the Wings, but the offense just didn’t have the necessary rhythm down the stretch.
The loss pushes Dallas into a precarious position in the standings. The Wings have dropped seven of their last 10 games and hold a 20-15 record.
Indiana (22-12), meanwhile, currently holds a half-game lead over the Atlanta Dream for the fourth spot.
Both teams will face off one more time before the postseason begins, when the Fever travel to Dallas on Thursday.
