Football season is here! The Hall of Fame game kicked off the 2026 season last Thursday, and the regular season is just a few weeks away.
With that in mind, President Donald Trump recently named three teams he believes will end up winning the Super Bowl this season, and now the NFL world is reacting.
The president has had his fair share of jinxes over the last couple of years, and now fans think he’s done the same for these three NFL franchises.
NFL Fans React to Donald Trump Cursing 3 Teams with Super Bowl Prediction
While he was interviewed by ESPN’s Laura Rutledge at the Patriot Games event, Trump named the New England Patriots, New York Giants, and Los Angeles Rams as his three picks to win the Super Bowl.
“New England looks good. I think the Giants, I like their quarterback a lot [Jaxson Dart]. They say the L.A. Rams are looking very strong,” Trump said.
The president did add that he thinks there are a lot of great teams, and that he shouldn’t get too into it or he’d get himself in trouble.
Well, it turns out he might have already gotten himself in trouble.
The NFL world has very mixed opinions on Trump’s trio of teams, but most fans are in agreement on one thing for sure: Those three teams are cursed.

“Those teams just got cursed,” one fan wrote on X.
Another fan reacted with a video and said, “Don’t gotta worry about the Rams or Patriots in the Super Bowl this year.”

“Trump out here casting a triple curse,” another fan added.
“He just cured all 3 of these teams,” another fan wrote (forgetting the “s” in cursed).
“Well those 3 teams are not going to win it. The Trump curse will continue,” another fan added.

The Trump curse originated because of a series of sporting events that have not gone the president’s way.
Most recently, Trump got U.S. Men’s National Team star striker Folarin Balogun’s red card overturned before the U.S. went on to lose their next match 4-1 to Belgium. In the same World Cup, the president praised Lionel Messi and Argentina before the World Cup Final against Spain. Spain won the game 1-0.

Going back earlier this year, Trump was in attendance at the New York Knicks’ Game 3 of the NBA Finals. The Knicks had won 13 straight playoff games and lost the one game Trump attended, and it ended up being their only loss in the series.
Then, prior to the 2025 Super Bowl, the president endorsed Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and predicted his squad would win it all, before the Philadelphia Eagles trounced the Chiefs in that Super Bowl.
While there are plenty who believe in the curse, some also gave props to the president for his selections… well, except for the Giants.
“Giants? Dude doesn’t know football in the slightest,” one fan reacted.
“You have to hand it to this (expletive) for checking the boxes. (He) shouts out his friend Bob Kraft by saying NE, panders to home crowd by saying NYG, then actually shows some ball knowledge by saying LAR,” another fan wrote.
The Patriots were in the Super Bowl last season, so that is not a crazy prediction. The Rams are one of the Super Bowl favorites after being a win away from reaching it a season ago and adding Myles Garrett this offseason.
The Giants are the head-scratcher. However, they are New York’s team, and Dart, whom Trump mentioned in the pick, has publicly endorsed him. So, it’s not difficult to see the logic behind the three selections.
Will those three teams be cursed? Or will the president break his curse by predicting the Super Bowl winner correctly?
