Dak Prescott spoke on his split from Sarah Jane Ramos, addressing false narratives and emphasizing his priority on co-parenting.

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott addressed the public speculation surrounding his broken engagement with ex-fiancée Sarah Jane Ramos for the first time on Thursday.

The couple canceled their planned April wedding in Lake Como, Italy, in March, just five weeks before the scheduled ceremony.

Following months of online speculation regarding the cause of the sudden breakup, the 33-year-old quarterback pushed back against rumors surrounding their split.

Dak Prescott Addresses Sarah Jane Ramos Breakup and Co-Parenting Focus

Speaking during an interview with the Dallas Morning News, Prescott clarified that much of the public commentary regarding their relationship failed to reflect what occurred behind closed doors.

Prescott dismissed the media noise and public speculation that followed the cancellation of the couple’s destination wedding.

While reports circulated regarding potential causes for the separation, including alleged disputes and prenuptial disagreements, Prescott emphasized that external coverage created an inaccurate picture for both parties.

“There were a lot of false narratives out there on both of our sides,” Prescott said of the shocking split in a Dallas Morning News interview.

Separately, Page Six has reported that the split involved alleged infidelity issues, though neither Prescott nor Ramos has publicly confirmed that as the specific cause.

When asked about managing the heightened media coverage and public scrutiny surrounding his personal life during training camp, the veteran quarterback explained that he avoids engaging with external commentary.

“Yeah, I mean, I don’t necessarily think it was public to me,” Prescott said. “Once again, I believe what you take in, what you read, what you look up, you’re doing that to yourself.”

The couple began dating in 2023 and announced their engagement in October 2024, and they share two young daughters, Margaret Jane “MJ,” 2, and Aurora, 1.

Following the canceled nuptials, a representative for Ramos told People that the decision to call off the wedding was mutual, with both remaining committed to co-parenting.

In April, Prescott and Ramos established a temporary custody agreement, and the former couple reunited in May to celebrate daughter Aurora’s first birthday.

For Prescott, maintaining stability and a strong presence in his daughters’ lives remains his primary priority as the personal transition unfolds.

“Yeah, it was an unfortunate situation for obviously everybody. More importantly, the kids. And so for me, it’s just about making sure I’m there in every which way for them,” he said.

With Cowboys training camp underway in Oxnard, California, Prescott has shifted his focus back to football ahead of his 11th NFL season.

The Cowboys are preparing for joint practices and preseason matchups before opening the regular season, while Prescott and Ramos continue their co-parenting arrangement.
