The Dianna Russini-Mike Vrabel controversy was among the biggest of this year’s offseason, which began after the two were spotted at an adults-only resort in Sedona, Arizona.
While both entities denied the allegations, Vrabel later subtly admitted his mistakes and said he hasn’t been holding himself to the standards he sets.
Even though it was one of the biggest stories, it hasn’t garnered much attention in the mainstream media.
LeSean McCoy Backs Aaron Rodgers for Blasting ESPN Over Mike Vrabel, Dianna Russini Scandal
During an appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show,” Rodgers questioned how less time the network spent on the Vrabel, Russini scandal, highlighting that the latter is a voter for MVP and Coach of the Year awards.
Reacting to Rodgers’ comments, during Monday night’s episode of “Speakeasy,” two-time Super Bowl champion LeSean McCoy backed the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback’s stance on the situation.
“He’s just keeping it straight 100,” McCoy said about Rodgers. “Every athlete out here, you know, you want to criticize them if something happens in their personal life. Y’all blow it up, right?
“This kid has a drinking problem. He has this. He has that. He can’t study the playbook because he’s out partying, all these different things… I’ve seen so many crazy stories. [If it’s] an athlete, they talk about it. But when it’s not an athlete, you know what happens? They don’t even want to talk about it. No. If you are an MVP voter, you’re that important; why we can’t talk about it and dig deep into it?”

McCoy then went into more detail to highlight the media’s hypocrisy in reporting on the players. He also brought up how the media dragged out Tom Brady’s divorce from Gisele Bündchen and blamed it for his poor performance.
“When it’s a reporter and not an athlete, they don’t want to talk about as much. So, Aaron Rodgers, I respect you for that, my brother.” McCoy added.
After Russini and Vrabel’s pictures from Sedona went viral, more receipts from their alleged relationship were made public, including a picture of them at a bar in 2020 and a video of them renting a boat in 2021 in Putnam County, Tennessee, while she was pregnant with her first child.
One of the main issues that many podcasters and analysts highlight in this situation is that Russini had a vote in the AP Coach of the Year ballot, which Vrabel won in 2025.
Others have also highlighted potential conflicts of interest in their alleged relationship, especially given Russini’s extensive coverage of A.J. Brown’s last season in Philadelphia.
