Aaron Rodgers recently offered a rare glimpse into his personal life. The Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback opened up on the “Pat McAfee Show,” filmed at Steelers training camp, about how marriage has reshaped his outlook heading into this season.
Marriage Has Given Aaron Rodgers a Different Perspective
Show producer Boston Connor asked Rodgers how marriage had changed him, and whether he had any advice to offer. Rodgers credited his wife with helping him work through one of the biggest decisions of his career: whether to keep playing football.
He explained that the choice wasn’t as simple as just wanting to suit up again. It meant thinking through the demands of a full season, the travel, the time away from home, and how all of that would affect his family.
“And because it’s a strain on the on not just the player, but on the wife and the family if you have kids and uh you’re you’re basically all in together. And I wanted us to make a decision together,” Rodgers said.
He also praised what he called “the woman’s intuition,” saying it played a real role as the two of them worked through the decision together. Rodgers made clear he wanted the choice to be a shared one, not something he decided on his own.
Looking ahead, Rodgers sounded genuinely excited. He talked about wanting to play “one last time” this season before shifting his focus to what comes next. That next chapter, he said, involves starting a family and having kids with his wife.
His past dating history has also helped him realize the significance of finding the right person. Reflecting on his previous relationships, Rodgers said, “I’ve made a lot of poor decisions with previous partners over the years.” He was not asked about, and did not reference, any specific relationship. He said finding the right partner changed his outlook in every way, joking that once it happens, it’s hard not to look back and shake your head at some of your earlier decisions.

Rodgers’ dating history has been anything but quiet. Rodgers has been linked to a string of high-profile partners over the past decade and a half, including actress Jessica Szohr, whom he dated on and off starting in 2011, and actress Olivia Munn, with whom he had a relationship from 2014 to 2017.
He dated former IndyCar driver Danica Patrick from January 2018 to July 2020. Patrick said on the May 21, 2025 episode of “The Sage Steele Show” that “the nature of the relationship was emotionally abusive.” Rodgers has never addressed Patrick’s characterization directly.
In March 2026, without naming anyone, he told The Pat McAfee Show he had dealt with exes who “go on TV talking about how I ruined their lives,” adding: “Stop lying about me. Just move on with your life and be happy.” His representatives did not respond to requests for comment when Patrick’s remarks were published.
Rodgers’ most publicized relationship came with actress Shailene Woodley. The two got engaged in 2021, only to call things off about a year later.
Then, in December 2024, Rodgers told Pat McAfee Show listeners he was seeing someone new, though he kept her identity under wraps. By the following spring, he was wearing a wedding ring, and in June 2025 he confirmed he had gotten married.
He’s shared little about his wife beyond her first name, Brittani, and small details like the fact that she has a sister named Mia, who is married to a rapper friend of his named Mike.
