Veteran NFL quarterback Aaron Rodgers grabbed the headlines with an explosive interview on the set of “The Pat McAfee Show” at the Pittsburgh Steelers’ training camp on Monday. Rodgers, who is about to embark on the final leg of his illustrious 22-year NFL career next season, did not hold back in his criticism of various characters, including former White House chief medical advisor Dr. Anthony Fauci.
Aaron Rodgers Blasts ESPN for Biased Coverage
During the interview, Rodgers mocked ESPN for focusing on his comments during his divisive career. He pinpointed the network’s obsession with his polarizing views and used the wall-to-wall coverage of Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s wedding as an example of ESPN’s bias.
“How much time did the network spend on that?” Rodgers said. “How much time do they spend on my responses every week? On my vaccination status, on Taylor [Swift] and Travis [Kelce’s] wedding? Did they do even a minute? Did they do even a minute on Tony Fauci? No, I bet they didn’t.”
The four-time NFL MVP is a divisive figure among fans and analysts due to his outspoken nature. In 2021, he was one of the most high-profile figures in the NFL to refuse the COVID-19 vaccination, and he railed against the league’s protocols for unvaccinated players.
During the 2021 preseason, Rodgers lied about his immunization status, and he became a major talking point when he later contracted COVID-19 and was forced to miss a game against the Kansas City Chiefs. He was fined by the NFL for violating COVID-19 protocols and was blasted by health officials for spreading vaccine misinformation.

On Monday, Rodgers continued his rant against ESPN, dragging the Dianna Russini and Mike Vrabel scandal back into the limelight.
“Then there was another scandal this offseason, too, involving a voter for MVP, for coach of the year,” Rodgers said. “How much time did your network spend on that?”
He continued, “Like, you have literally an individual that maybe used to work at ESPN that covers our league at the highest level, and there’s a major scandal, and it’s just, like, nobody can (expletive) talk about it. What are we even doing here?… [If] it’s affecting certain things, if there’s leaks going on, if there’s tampering going on, if that person is also an MVP voter and a coach of the year vote.”
Earlier in the show, Rodgers had also slammed Dr. Fauci for invoking his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination more than 100 times during a congressional hearing over his handling of the pandemic.
