Lamar Jackson has achieved almost everything an NFL quarterback could ask for during the regular season. However, with his postseason struggles continuing, Baltimore Ravens legend Terrell Suggs has stepped forward with a strong message for Baltimore’s front office.

Jackson undoubtedly remains one of the most dynamic and dominant quarterbacks of his generation. The two-time NFL MVP has consistently guided the Ravens to the top of the AFC standings. However, his inability to translate regular-season success into a Super Bowl run has fueled ongoing debate about his postseason legacy.
Baltimore drafted wide receiver Zay Flowers in 2023, and the arrival of star running back Derrick Henry generated enormous optimism about the team’s championship aspirations.
However, those expectations ultimately failed to materialize as both Jackson and the Ravens endured a disappointing last season. Baltimore finished the season with an 8-9 record and missed the playoffs altogether.
As scrutiny surrounding Jackson continues to grow, two-time Super Bowl champion Suggs has remained one of the quarterback’s strongest supporters. During an appearance on Perk Unplugged, the former Ravens star argued that Jackson has been unfairly criticized because the organization has not surrounded him with enough talent.

“Why he’s getting this unfair scrutiny, this unfair criticism, is because he doesn’t have the necessary pieces that he needs to win. We need to go get him some pieces,” Suggs said.

The Ravens’ biggest move of this offseason was signing Pro Bowl edge rusher Trey Hendrickson in free agency. However, Suggs believes Baltimore should continue to add offensive talent, saying Jackson needs more reliable weapons and a veteran running back.
“I think they need to break their neck to go get him pieces. Like, yo, what we need, we need people for him to throw the ball to. We need to get him a running back for people who can’t just like, you know, sit back and play coverage on him.”
Jackson is now preparing for a fresh chapter under a new head coach and offensive coordinator. The quarterback recently expressed confidence in the coaching transition, saying he feels extremely comfortable with the new system.
The Ravens will hope that confidence carries into the 2026 season and helps produce a much stronger outcome than last year. At the same time, Suggs’ passionate message serves as a reminder that Baltimore’s front office may need to do even more to maximize Jackson’s championship window.
