It was two years ago that the Arizona Cardinals stood pat and made Marvin Harrison Jr. the fourth overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. At the time, MHJ was viewed as a near-lock who had future NFL superstar written all over him.
Unfortunately, the first two seasons of his career haven’t gone the way many envisioned. Despite being the highest receiver selected in his draft class, Harrison Jr. ranks fourth in receiving yards amongst his 2024 peers.
Entering his third season, there was hope that the 23-year-old would make major strides towards living up to his potential. Yet, that hasn’t been the case early on.
Why Marvin Harrison Jr. Is Getting Ripped on Social Media
Many anticipated Harrison Jr. being the top target on the Cardinals by now. Heck, many thought that he would immediately command the top target share, even as a rookie.
Few anticipated Trey McBride becoming arguably the NFL’s best tight end, but still, Harrison Jr. not having any 1,000-yard seasons in either of his first two years came as a surprise.
Now, clips have surfaced of Harrison Jr. going through Cardinals training camp, and to say he’s been struggling would be an understatement.
One X account compiled a batch of clips showing the third-year pro making multiple mistakes, including dropped passes.
“Marvin Harrison Jr. is going OFF at Cardinals training camp,” read one reaction.

One fan went as far as to say that Harrison is doing this on purpose, to try to force a change of scenery via a trade to a more competitive team.

Another account was poking fun at the fact that some thought Harrison Jr. would be better than Malik Nabers, who was selected two slots after the Cardinals receiver. Ironically enough, Nabers has recorded 18 fewer yards than Harrison Jr. has, but he’s played in 10 fewer games too.
Coming out of College people on this app said he was better than Malik Nabers. 😂😂😂😂 https://t.co/nWXI7CLUIS

Another made the claim that Harrison Jr.’s “brand is getting destroyed” by putting bad practice film out there.

Maybe he’s still getting some early camp jitters out of the way. If not, it could be a long season in Arizona for the former No. 4 overall pick.
