“Divorce”: Boulter’s Hilarious Threat After De Minaur Rejects Mixed Doubles Offer

On Monday, the official US Open Instagram account posted a promotional graphic and the initial entry list for the upcoming Mixed Doubles Championship. And Boulter took to the comments to pitch a partnership to her husband.

In the comment, the Brit tagged him, asking, “@alexdeminaur wanna play mixed with your wife?”

Instead of jumping at the chance, de Minaur quickly shut it down, replying, “@katiecboulter sorry I’m already set… 👀😅”

Boulter replied with a single word: “@alexdeminaur divorce”

Later, on her Instagram story, Boulter shared the screenshot of their exchange with a cheeky caption: “looking for a mixed partner if anyone wants to play?”

Interestingly, the couple had also entertained fans last year by publicly campaigning for a mixed doubles wildcard at the 2025 US Open. De Minaur wrote on X: “Katie and I would like to ask for a WC pretty pretty please 🙏😢” after the tournament announced 14 teams with two wildcards still available. However, the US Open organizers didn’t give them a chance.

De Minaur and Boulter secretly tied the knot in Tuscany earlier this month. They had been together since 2020 and got engaged in December 2024. Although they had mutual tennis friends, their relationship began after an unexpected encounter at the hotel where they were both staying. Boulter recalled how the two “bumped into each other at six in the morning and ended up getting a coffee,” instantly knowing she was “in it for the long haul.”

Speaking about their intimate wedding ceremony, de Minaur said in a pre-tournament interview in Washington, “It was an amazing time. [It was] everything we could have ever imagined. It was like our own little movie. We were able to celebrate with family and friends and have a very small honeymoon, which consisted of two days. Then we’re on a flight here to Washington and getting our heads screwed back on and back to being tennis players.”

The couple is already back in competition at the Mubadala DC Open in Washington. De Minaur is the defending champion at the ATP 500 event and will play his opening match against Stefanos Tsitsipas on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Boulter suffered a 3-6, 6-2, 6-2 defeat to American Ashlyn Krueger in the first round.
