Tommy Paul tied the knot with his longtime partner, Paige Lorenze, on July 14 in New York. On the court, he might be known for being laid-back, but trading his tennis gear for a wedding suit definitely brought out the nerves. Fellow pro Jessica Pegula was there celebrating with a close group of American players, and she shared the story about Paul’s pre-wedding panic.

The wedding was at Old Westbury Gardens on Long Island, New York, one year after the World No. 21’s Nantucket proposal to Lorenze.
On the latest episode of “The Player’s Box Podcast,” hosts Desirae Krawczyk, Jenny Brady, Madison Keys, and Pegula discussed the whirlwind of recent tennis weddings, including those of Paul, Asia Muhammad, and fellow players Katie and Alex.
Pegula, soaking in the celebrations alongside fellow players like Frances Tiafoe, Reilly Opelka, and Taylor Fritz, who served as groomsmen for Paul, shared a candid interaction she had with the groom shortly after the ceremony:
“Tommy was really emotional, too. And like when we saw him after, he’s like, ‘I’ve never been so nervous in my entire life.’ Like he was like, ‘I was like not okay.’ He was freaking out. It was adorable,” Pegula said.
In their interview with Vogue, Paul also opened up about being completely in awe of Lorenze as he watched her walk down the aisle. “I was weak in the knees. It felt like my heart was going to burst out of my chest, and I couldn’t hold back tears,” he said.

The couple first met during the U.S. Open in New York in the fall of 2022. The Dairy Boy founder quickly became a constant presence in his player box, publicly supporting his on-court triumphs and traveling the globe as his ranking surged.
Following a romantic beachside proposal in Nantucket in July last year, the pair chose Long Island for their wedding to honor the state where their story first began.
On the tennis side, Paul is officially shifting his focus back to the North American hard-court swing after an early Wimbledon exit and a run to the final at the Queen’s Club. Next up, Paul faces Kamil Majchrzak in the Round of 32 today, July 28, at the Mubadala DC Open in Washington.
