This offseason, the Buffalo Bills set out to upgrade their WR room, and they got that done by trading for DJ Moore. It’s not like Buffalo has been averse to investing in that position, as shown by the Moore deal, but the others haven’t worked out.
One of the players in particular that has gotten major criticism is former second-round pick Keon Coleman. With Josh Allen at QB, the Bills have a window to winning a Super Bowl, and Coleman’s development could be a major factor in getting that done.
Keon Coleman Continues To Struggle Going Into Year 3
With it being late July, training camps around the NFL are starting, which means we are one step closer to regular-season football. This is an exciting time for any fan because belief is still in the air, but there are always going to be moments that bring down the mood.
As I mentioned, Coleman is going to need to take a step forward and at least become a consistent WR for the Bills. If not, the trade rumors that circled him a bit may spread again, especially with new HC Joe Brady at the helm.
Like any player, Coleman is going to have a chance to prove himself, but to begin training camp, the young WR did not help his case and dropped the first pass thrown to him. With the Bills a contender and all eyes on Coleman’s development, the NFL world reacted to the drop.
Bills writer Alex Brasky posted a video of Coleman dropping the ball and pointed out the unbelievability of the moment, “First pass of 7-on-7 to start Bills training camp and Keon Coleman drops it, Can’t make it up.”

Sports analyst ChrisCallsBall bluntly stated that Coleman needs to fix the inconsistency issues, “Guy needs to figure it out.”

Although one drop is not the end of the world, this is the opposite of what the Bills and their fans want to see.
Buffalo trading for Moore, who was a part of an electric Chicago Bears offense and finished the season 40th overall in PFSN’s 2025 WR Impact Metric, will help improve the passing attack, but he won’t fix it. Players around him must step up, and all eyes are on Coleman to be one of those WRs.
