Talented wide receiver Tyreek Hill is currently one of the most high-profile free agents in the NFL. The Miami Dolphins released Hill in February after missing most of the 2025 season because of a left knee dislocation and an ACL injury sustained in Week 4 against the New York Jets.
NFL Insider Gives Tyreek Hill to Chiefs Update
During an appearance on Friday’s segment of “SportsCenter,” ESPN reporter Jeremy Fowler gave an update on Hill’s desirability to teams and a potential reunion with the Kansas City Chiefs.
“There isn’t much of a market right now for the reasons Tyreek Hill essentially highlighted, that he’s simply not healthy and this could be a longer road,” Fowler said. “Teams know that, but they’re keeping tabs on him. I checked with somebody from Hill’s camp, and they said that multiple teams had shown some interest.
“Also, he’s still very fond of Kansas City and the Chiefs. He had a great experience there when he played there. If they need a receiver at any point, perhaps that relationship makes sense. But right now it’s simply about him getting his explosion back.”

After a controversial college football career, the Kansas City Chiefs selected Hill No. 165 overall in the 2016 NFL Draft despite his contentious past. Hill quickly established himself as one of the league’s most lethal punt returners, and he earned a Pro Bowl nod and a first-team All-Pro selection in his rookie season.
Hill was a key cog in the Chiefs team that won Super Bowl LIV against the San Francisco 49ers in 2019. He was traded to the Dolphins in 2022, where he continued his streak of earning Pro Bowl nods throughout his NFL career until 2023.
During his six seasons with the Chiefs, according to PFN’s WR Impact Metric, Hill finished as a top-10 wideout in the league in four seasons, including a No. 1 finish in 2018, when he posted an impact score of 90.2.
In a video posted on YouTube on Wednesday, Hill, who has had two surgeries, revealed that he still has no “power” in his left knee.

“So it’s about 10 months after doing two surgeries,” Hill said. “My left leg is the one that I injured. I have no power in my left leg at all, so I’m trying to regain all the power back in my left leg.
“I’ve been activating the quads, the glutes, the hamstrings, the calves. I’ve been doing all the stability work, all the mobility work I need to get my knee back right. But it’s one day at a time… I ain’t going to tell you what my timeline is, but timeline looking real good right now, man.”
Hill has registered 11,363 receiving yards on 819 catches for 83 touchdowns in his 10-year NFL career.
The polarizing wide receiver has received eight Pro Bowl nods, five first-team All-Pro and one second-team All-Pro selection in his illustrious career. He was the NFL’s receiving yards leader and the league’s receiving touchdowns leader in 2023. He was also named to the NFL 2010s All-Decade Team.
