Brandon Aiyuk has been trying to get his wish all offseason long. His goal appears to be to get released from the San Francisco 49ers, then land with the Washington Commanders.
Yet, like when George Costanza tried to get out of his New York Yankees contract to go join the Mets, things didn’t go as smoothly as he hoped. Same thing here. Only now, Aiyuk is taking things up a notch.

Posting videos and dropping cryptic messages online hasn’t worked out for Aiyuk. So, what’s next?
Now, the 49ers receiver has revealed that he’s bought a home in Loudoun County, home of the Commanders’ headquarters. Said price of that home was a reported $10 million. Not exactly chump change. But for someone who’s in season two of a four-year, $120 million contract, it’s just a large expense.

Though, as one X account pointed out, Aiyuk misspelled the county where his new home is located.
“Brandon Aiyuk has revealed that he has purchased a home in Northern Virginia. Loudoun County is also where #Commanders Headquarters is located. And yes, he mispelt Loudoun County.”

There have been no actual indications suggesting either that the 49ers are ready to cut Aiyuk loose, nor have the Commanders shown an inkling of interest in him. Though NFL rules prevent other teams from recruiting players under contract by other organizations, so who knows?

Still, one X commenter couldn’t help but ask whether Aiyuk has lost his mind. He wrote, “Has Brandon Aiyuk lost his mind?”
Meanwhile, PFTCommenter admitted to jokingly being scared while posting a meme from Wayne’s World with the text written “Stop it! You’re scaring me.”

One NFL analyst even went as far as to suggest that the only paper the Commanders would have Aiyuk sign at this point is a restraining order to stay far away from the team.
He said, “At this point… the only contract the Commanders could end up sending Brandon Aiyuk’s way will be a restraining order.”

Meanwhile, NFL QB trainer Quincy Avery chimed in, saying, “30 for 30 gonna be insane.”
Another analyst just can’t believe that the Aiyuk storylines haven’t let up, and wrote, “It just never stops”
There’s no telling what the future holds for Aiyuk, whether he’ll be playing football in 2026 or seeking employment elsewhere. Yet, Damon Bruce contends that “now is not the time for this guy to be buying $10M houses.”
Uh, congratulations to Aiyuk on the new house? Hopefully, the neighbors are nice.
