Former NFL quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow has been a mainstay on the SEC Network since his retirement from the NFL.
This week, Tebow landed a multi-year contract extension with ESPN despite the network’s mass layoffs, which included Cam Newton, Ryan Clark, Tom Pelissero, Karl Ravech, Charles Davis, and Bart Scott among others.

Tebow expressed his excitement about sticking with ESPN during this turbulent time for the network.
“I love this game and getting to talk about it every Saturday with the crews on SEC Network and ESPN is a gift I don’t take lightly,” Tebow said in the statement. “SEC fans bring a passion that never gets old, and I’m grateful I get to keep doing this alongside people who feel like family.”
Tebow will continue to discuss college football on “SEC Nation,” the SEC Network’s weekly pregame show. He will also continue to appear on “SportsCenter” and “College Football Live” among other programs.
ESPN’s president of content Burke Magnus lavished praise on Tebow in a statement announcing the former Florida Gators superstar’s extension.

“Tim is one of the legendary players in the history of college football and he will continue to be a fixture in our coverage on SEC Network and across ESPN,” Magnus said in the statement. “Tim’s unrivaled experience in the SEC combined with his knowledge and genuine passion for the game make him one of the sport’s most credible voices, particularly among the SEC Nation fanbase.”
After winning two national championships with coach Urban Meyer’s dominant Florida Gators and earning a Heisman Trophy, Tebow’s NFL career didn’t live up to the hype after the Denver Broncos selected him No. 25 overall in the 2010 NFL Draft.
After two seasons in Denver, Tebow bounced around the league with the New York Jets, New England Patriots, Philadelphia Eagles, and Jacksonville Jaguars. He has been at ESPN since 2013, and his role with the network has expanded over time.
In 2016, Tebow tried his hand at professional baseball. Then, in 2021, he briefly attempted an NFL comeback with the Jaguars, but it was short-lived. Across his three-year NFL career, he totaled 2,422 passing yards, 17 passing touchdowns, and 9 interceptions, while rushing for 989 yards and 12 TDs.
In addition to his success with ESPN, Tebow has ventured into hosting several television shows, including “Million Dollar Mile” and “Home Free.”
