‘Absolutely Ridiculous’ — NFL World Calls Out ‘Insane’ Prices of Joe Montana, Brett Favre’s Autographs, Photo Ops at Fanatics Fest

Even as the Fanatics Fest craze continues, fans are left stunned by the amount being charged for Joe Montana and Brett Favre's signatures.

As the 2026 FIFA World Cup nears a close, the sporting world has come together for a wild, four-day celebration of some of the best they have to offer. The Fanatics Fest 2026 was a wild ride, featuring some of the biggest names in the industry.

From Tom Brady to LeBron James, some of the greatest of all-time made their presence felt. However, it was also an insane moneymaking opportunity, as a document detailing autograph and photo-op pricing leaked. Fans were left stunned by the prices being charged, particularly for retired stars like Joe Montana and Brett Favre.

Joe Montana and Brett Favre Become Symbols for Fanatics Fest’s Greed

Two of the greatest quarterbacks in league history, they left an indelible mark on the NFL as a whole. Whether it was the legendary Montana and Jerry Rice connection that powered the San Francisco 49ers, or Favre keeping the prestige of the Green Bay Packers.

However, they still remain marquee names in the public’s eye. At the 2026 iteration of the Fanatics Fest, an event where Brady had a live podcast, slapped Logan Paul, and dunked Rob Gronkowski in a tub of Raising Cane’s sauce, Montana and Favre still charged a hefty price.

An autograph and photo-op pricing list, courtesy of PFSN’s CEO Matt Cannata, showcased some of the merchandise on offer — and Favre’s price for each individual was set at $517.

However, the pricing from Montana was even more egregious. Available in three tiers, the event charged $300 for the standard edition, $366 for the premium edition, and a staggering $981 for the ultimate premium edition.

As a result, the larger football fan base was left stunned by the numbers. Michael Kallajian instantly responded, “Those prices are insane. Not sure how you can justify spending that much on an autograph or even a photo. Wow.”

For one fan, though, the most shocking part came from the photo ops list. “Kinda crazy to me that Favre is the most expensive.” His shock was understandable as legends like Alex Rodriguez, Allen Iverson, Eli Manning, and Barry Sanders were also part of the cast.

For most fans, it was impossible to get over the nearly $1,000 price tag of the ultimate premium edition from Montana. One fan couldn’t contain his wonder, asking, “Man, $980 for Montana??? Like what else you get? Is he signing whatever you want him to sign? Multiple items?”

The common sentiment was put forward perfectly by Eddie Chaput as he exclaimed, “Absolutely ridiculous.” But even with the lofty prices, the event was an overwhelming success by virtually any metric.

Whether it was the star power on offer or the roughly 200,000 ticketholders expected to pack the Javits Center over four days, the event became an extravaganza to remember.
