Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding celebration has remained one of the biggest talking points across the NFL.
Now, American Century Investments President and CEO Jonathan Thomas has revealed that several massive football stars became emotional during the ceremony, giving new meaning to the unforgettable day.
Jonathan Thomas Reveals Football Players Were Crying at Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s Wedding
Thomas shared one of the ceremony’s most memorable moments while recalling Kelce’s heartfelt vows.
“The officiator says for rich or for poor; Adam [Sandler] said you’re not gonna have to worry about that…” the CEO revealed. “Travis went first with his vows; he probably spoke for 30 minutes, and I don’t want to violate his privacy, but I was crying, which I was trying to hold back.”
He continued, “I was trying to hold it back until I look around, and there’s all these 300-pound men from the football business crying as well. And so I felt really comfortable just to kind of let go on it. I mean, it was very, very powerful.”
Interestingly, former NFL quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick also revealed the same emotions while attending the celebration. Speaking at the ACC Golf Championship on July 8, Fitzpatrick revealed the ceremony struck the perfect balance between heartfelt and entertaining.
“Yes, and I may have cried. It was very emotional and also very fun and funny, too. So, it had all the feels.”

Fitzpatrick also suggested Kelce may have had an emotional moment of his own during the ceremony. “You know, it was kind of far away. It might have been sweat that got in his eyes. I’m not sure. It was kind of far away, so I can’t tell you 100%,” the former Buffalo Bills quarterback added.
When asked whether “he did cry a little bit,” Fitzpatrick did not hesitate before responding, “No doubt, I was teary.”
Beyond the emotional moments, the guest list looked like an NFL All-Star gathering. Patrick Mahomes, Andy Reid, Chris Jones, Isiah Pacheco, and Trent McDuffie reportedly attended alongside George Kittle, Matthew Stafford, Cooper Kupp, Tom Brady, Kyle Juszczyk, and Mike Vrabel.

Hollywood and the music industry brought even more star power to the celebration. As per reports, Selena Gomez, Emma Stone, Jennifer Lawrence, Gigi Hadid, Hugh Grant, Ed Sheeran, Camila Cabello, Fergie, and Machine Gun Kelly were at the venue.
American Century Investments’ CEO also shared what the overall atmosphere was like at the wedding.
“You walk through this castle that they built, and behind it, they had all sorts of games, amazing giveaways to people,” Thomas said, “And then the stage, initially, Taylor and Paul McCartney sang, and then Taylor and Stevie Nicks sang.
“We’re just surrounded by legends,” he added. “They really calibrated the second part of it to their guests. I’ve never seen a wedding that was so designed to delight the guests and make sure they have a lot of fun… Once you went through that castle, it was all about the guests, and they went over the top to make sure everybody had a great time.”

The venue looked nothing like a traditional indoor arena by the time guests arrived. Luxury event planners reportedly transformed the massive space into an elegant garden-inspired setting that felt warm and intimate. Soft peach drapery surrounded the venue, while elaborate floral displays and hundreds of glowing candles created a romantic atmosphere.
The attention to detail also extended to the couple’s wardrobe. Reports state that the 36-year-old bride and groom both wore custom white Christian Dior haute couture designed by Jonathan Anderson. They completed the look with custom Christian Louboutin shoes, while Swift added classic Cartier jewelry that complemented the elegant theme.
Together, every element reflected the private yet luxurious celebration shared with family and friends.
Now, reports suggest that the newlyweds are planning to enjoy an extended honeymoon following the wedding festivities.
