Kayshon Boutte Landing Spots: 6 Teams That Could Trade for the Patriots WR Amid Recent Rumors

New England Patriots wide receiver Kayshon Boutte looks to be on the move, but which NFL teams should be pursuing a trade?

Kayshon Boutte has developed into a reliable pass-catching weapon for the New England Patriots after being taken in the sixth round of the 2023 NFL Draft. Following a quiet rookie season, Boutte started 23 regular-season games for the Patriots in 2024 and 2025 combined, totaling 1,140 receiving yards and 9 touchdowns.

After the team added A.J. Brown and Romeo Doubs this offseason, though, Boutte’s time in New England has likely come to an end. As trade rumors swirl, this article identifies six NFL teams that should be looking to make a move.

6 NFL Team Fits for Patriots Trade Candidate Kayshon Boutte

There are several teams in need of an extra wide receiver ahead of 2026, and Boutte has likely been pushed up a spot in the pecking order with Brandon Aiyuk scaring teams off. Boutte offers a solid deep threat to keep opposing defenses honest and demonstrated his end zone prowess with six scores in 2025.

With those specific traits in mind, here are six teams that would make sense for the receiver in a trade.

Washington Commanders

The Washington Commanders are arguably the most obvious team fit for Boutte. The team has been widely expected to sign Aiyuk this summer, but that move is all but dead after a string of controversial social media posts from the San Francisco 49ers receiver.

Boutte has a similar deep-threat profile to Aiyuk and is a far safer bet for the team, given Aiyuk has not played since October 2024. However, the Commanders already have several depth pieces, and the Super Bowl dark horses should be pursuing a ceiling-raiser like Stefon Diggs instead.

Miami Dolphins

Similarly, the Miami Dolphins have put together a receiver room that needs to prioritize quality over quantity when identifying new additions. That said, the team’s current receivers have just two 500-yard seasons between them (Jalen Tolbert and Tutu Atwell, both in 2024), and Boutte alone would double that.

Whoever rises to the top of the Dolphins’ receiver depth chart, Boutte would be a solid field stretcher, allowing the team’s chosen playmakers to operate underneath. Again, Diggs is the obvious target, but this offense will likely run through De’Von Achane in any case.

Las Vegas Raiders

The final team on this list that should really be prioritizing a clear WR1 over Boutte is the Las Vegas Raiders. The Raiders are more similar to the Commanders, though, in that they already have an alpha pass catcher on their roster, tight end Brock Bowers.

The team also added Jalen Nailor in free agency, while Tre Tucker provides a big-play threat with his speed and ability after the catch. Whether the Raiders would consider trading for Boutte will likely depend on their feelings toward 2025 second-round pick Jack Bech.

Bech caught 20 passes for 224 yards in his rookie year, but was more consistently involved from Week 13 onward. If the team is committed to the former TCU receiver, it’s likely content with the options it has, but it remains a possibility for now.

Atlanta Falcons

Boutte is likely best suited to a WR3 role on a team with solid short-yardage options in the passing game. The Atlanta Falcons have a star receiver in Drake London, while tight end Kyle Pitts and running back Bijan Robinson demand attention over the middle of the field.

Boutte could thrive in that environment, with so many defensive eyes on Atlanta’s star names, allowing him plenty of one-on-one opportunities downfield. The team just lost Darnell Mooney, who had played that role for the past two seasons, falling eight yards shy of a 1,000-yard receiving season in 2024.

It wouldn’t be a flashy signing, but the NFC South throws up a lot of shootouts, and Boutte would balance out Atlanta’s offense perfectly.

New Orleans Saints

If not the Falcons, then perhaps the New Orleans Saints could bring Boutte to the NFC South. The team now has two star receivers in Chris Olave and Jordyn Tyson, but lost a significant piece in Rashid Shaheed last season.

Shaheed offered a devastating deep threat that kept opposing defenses honest, allowing others to thrive underneath. Boutte can do that, too, but would be limited to three-receiver sets, pushing either Olave or Tyson inside.

Los Angeles Rams

If Boutte is inclined to prioritize a potential Super Bowl over his own personal involvement, though, the Los Angeles Rams make a lot of sense. Boutte would see much less game time than on other teams, due to Sean McVay’s preference for two-tight-end sets.

However, the Rams were widely believed to be in the market for another receiver this summer, and an extra deep threat would make sense. Davante Adams’ 12.6-yard average depth of target in 2025 was the highest of his career. That’s despite 22 of his targets coming from inside the opposition’s 10-yard line.

Adams remains the team’s best goal-line receiver and will continue that role in 2026, but at 33 years old, he may need to rotate a little more and hand over those deeper routes. The most targeted receiver for the Rams last season, after Puka Nacua and Adams, was Jordan Whittington, with just 25.

Boutte would have a great opportunity to take over that WR3 role and to take some work away from Adams in the process. The former Raider has missed three games in each of the past two seasons, while Nacua has missed seven games over the same two-year span.
