Few quarterbacks play the game with such grace as Patrick Mahomes. At times, Jayden Daniels has flashed otherworldly talent, too.
But it’s not just about playing the game with a certain type of flair; Mahomes doesn’t win in spite of being flashy; he wins because of his unique abilities that include scrambling to keep the play alive. Other times, he’s uncorking passes like a shortstop moments before impact.
It’s become clear that Mahomes isn’t afraid to take calculated risks because, more often than not, he’s made them pay off. Last year, the Washington Commanders quarterback got a first-row seat to seeing some of Mahomes’ magic in action.
Netflix Captures Jayden Daniels Being in Awe of Patrick Mahomes
Netflix is back at it again with its popular “Quarterback” series featuring a new batch of athletes, including Daniels.
While Washington’s QB was limited to just seven games due to injury in 2025, while sidelined, he did get to witness Mahomes in action against the Commanders. Unfortunately for Washington, the game resulted in a 28-7 win for the Kansas City Chiefs, but that’s to be expected when the Commanders were missing their franchise QB.
Even though Daniels wasn’t playing, Netflix captured some of his reactions to Mahomes going off for 299 yards and three touchdowns in the 21-point win over the Commanders.

Despite the somber day due to a loss, Daniels couldn’t hold back his fandom, admitting, “Oh bro, I’m glazing. He good bro.”
“Let me go watch Mr. Mahomes throw the football,” Daniels said. “I got to see this [expletive] in person myself.”
At one point, Daniels marveled at Mahomes, asking, “How do you find that? He just made up some [expletive].”

Later, in a moment to reflect while seated with Netflix cameras and a microphone surrounding him, Daniels added on to what he saw in live action.
“I appreciate great QB play,” Daniels admitted. “It’s an art. No glaze, like, Patrick Mahomes is good at football.”
Most would agree that the three-time Super Bowl champion quarterback is “good at football.” He’s proven it time and time again.
Only now the 30-year-old is working his way back from a torn ACL that ended his season after 14 games. Ahead of the 2026 NFL season, PFN ranked Mahomes as the 15th-best player in the league on its top 100 players list, and he was the QB6 behind Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, Drake Maye, Joe Burrow, and Matthew Stafford.
With the Chiefs missing the postseason for the first time since before he arrived in 2017, Mahomes will surely have a big chip on his shoulder as he makes his recovery. Once he’s back, he’ll have a chance to impress a new batch of young players on the opposing sidelines, just as he left an impression on Daniels.
