Following a grueling grass-court swing, the tennis tour is taking a small break before the action resumes with the North American swing. Several players have taken advantage of this break by getting married, including Alex de Minaur and Katie Boulter and Tommy Paul and Paige Lorenze.
Kasatkina officially also had her wedding ceremony on Wednesday, with several WTA Tour stars joining the celebrations at a picturesque Greek island. The 29-year-old posted pictures from the ceremony on Thursday, calling it the “best day ever.”
“We just had the best day ever. We celebrated love, freedom, and acceptance. No words for now, only appreciation,” she wrote on Instagram.

The journey so far has been a storied one for Kasatkina, who was born in Russia and first came to prominence in 2017 by winning the Charleston Open as a teenager. She switched her nationality to Australia in March 2025 and obtained Australian citizenship earlier this year.
Kasatkina made the decision in order to escape the strict LGBTQ+ laws in Russia and after criticizing the war in Ukraine. The tennis player has been in a relationship with Zabiiako since 2021. They publicly announced their relationship in 2022, got engaged in June 2025, and tied the knot this week.
Zabiiako is a figure skater who specializes in pairs and won a silver medal in the team event at the 2018 Winter Olympics. She is also a bronze medalist at the Figure Skating World Championships.
On the tennis court, Kasatkina has delivered some decent performances this year and holds a 17-14 win-loss record. She is 63rd in the WTA rankings ahead of the North American swing and made the third round at both the French Open and the Wimbledon Championships.
