Five-time Pro Bowler Ja’Marr Chase had another monster season for the Cincinnati Bengals last year, continuing his Hall of Fame trajectory in the NFL. The talented wide receiver earned his second first-team All-Pro nod, establishing himself as one of the best players at his position in the NFL.
Ja’Marr Chase Secures WR2 Spot on PFN’s Top 100
Chase landed the WR2 spot and the No. 9 overall player in PFN’s NFL top-100 ranking, garnering praise from analyst Jason Katz. Chase usurped Minnesota Vikings star Justin Jefferson, but could not topple Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua from the top spot, who ranked as the No. 5 overall player.
“Chase’s target volume has increased every year of his career and for good reason. He is the best wide receiver in football, firmly in his prime,” Katz wrote.
After being selected No. 5 overall by the Bengals in the 2021 NFL Draft, Chase showed off his talent by setting the franchise’s single-season receiving yards record with 1,455. He led the Bengals to their first Super Bowl appearance since 1988 and won the AP Offensive Rookie of the Year award in the process.

Chase is yet to have a season in the NFL with fewer than 1,000 receiving yards or fewer than seven touchdowns. In 2024, he established himself as possibly the best wide receiver in the NFL when he won the receiving triple crown with the most receiving yards (1,708), most receptions (127), and most touchdowns (17).
Bengals Insider Has Concerning Prediction About Chase
During last week’s segment of “The Growler” podcast, Bengals insider Jay Morrison suggested that Chase’s production would suffer next season due to the high standards the wide receiver set last season.
“I think you have to go worse,” Morrison said when asked whether Chase will perform better than last season. “It’s so hard to keep that up, and not only do you not know what that offense is going to look like, but you don’t know what the defense is going to look like. The opposing defenses could just sell out and go after Ja’Marr, and you know, what if Tee [Higgins] gets hurt? And then all of a sudden, Ja’Marr doesn’t have that to offset that coverage?
“There’s just a lot of things that could happen that can kind of lower his production and what the grade will be. I still think he’s a top-five, top-three receiver in the league, but it’s hard to say he’s gonna go higher when he was already so high last year.”
