Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys boast one of the NFL’s top receiving duos in CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens, with both wideouts surpassing 1,000 receiving yards last season.
However, Dallas lacks proven depth behind the star pair, and a recent rumor suggested the Cowboys are the favorites to land disgruntled San Francisco 49ers receiver Brandon Aiyuk. But even before the speculation gains traction, one prominent Cowboys analyst is already dismissing the possibility.
Cowboys Analyst Laughs Off Brandon Aiyuk Rumors
The Cowboys currently have Ryan Flournoy and KaVontae Turpin penciled in as their No. 3 and No. 4 receivers. While both are capable rotational players, neither has consistently proven himself as a full-time starter, leaving Dallas just one injury away from a much thinner receiving corps.
With Jones always willing to make a blockbuster move, a popular NFL aggregator account named Dov Kleiman recently fueled speculation on X by claiming the Cowboys had a 21% chance of landing Aiyuk, either through a trade or as a free agent signing.
However, the latest Polymarket odds tell a different story. Aiyuk is listed with less than a one percent chance of playing for Dallas in the 2026 season, while the Baltimore Ravens are considered the betting favorites at 4%.
Regardless, Cowboys analyst Law Thomas of Law Nation Media wasn’t entertaining the rumor.

Jones has never been afraid to make splashy acquisitions, but Aiyuk’s current situation makes such a move highly unlikely, especially given the Cowboys owner’s history of caution with players carrying significant injury concerns.
Aiyuk enjoyed an impressive start to his NFL career after the 49ers selected him in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft. Across 69 games, he totaled 294 receptions for 4,305 yards and 27 touchdowns, earning second-team All-Pro honors in 2023 before suffering a serious knee injury the following season.

The 28-year-old has not appeared in an NFL game in more than a year and a half, and his increasingly strained relationship with the 49ers has only complicated his future.
Aiyuk had signed a four-year, $120 million extension in 2024, but after appearing in just seven games, he suffered ACL and MCL tears. NFL rules require injured players to remain in regular contact with team medical staff, but Aiyuk allegedly failed to meet those obligations. Reports claim he stopped communicating with the organization, was absent from team facilities, and missed scheduled rehabilitation sessions.
