Once two players aren’t teammates anymore, all bets are off, even if it hasn’t been that long. Tyler Herro and Bam Adebayo were teammates on the Miami from 2019 to 2026. After the fallout from the Giannis Antetokounmpo trade, the two former teammates reportedly had a bit of a scuffle.
What Happened Between Tyler Herro & Bam Adebayo?
ESPN’s Shams Charania was the first to report that Herro and Adebayo got into a fight in Las Vegas.
Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro got into a physical altercation in Las Vegas on Friday in which Adebayo struck Herro, sources tell ESPN.

Charania revealed more details on the matter between the ex-Heat star and the current Heat star, writing, “The altercation occurred at a practice court in a Las Vegas hotel this morning, sources said — starting when Adebayo approached Herro about comments the guard made critiquing the center on social media after their seven-year run in Miami ended.”
NBA Insider Chris Haynes revealed that the Heat were aware of the situation and had no comment. There hasn’t been confirmation of this, but since the Heat traded Herro, his behavior on social media afterward has been questionable.
A DM between a Herro and Heat fan was leaked not too long afterward, in which he insinuated he was Miami’s best player while questioning Adebayo’s impact, essentially implying that his former teammate’s effort was inconsistent, despite how much money he was making.
It didn’t stop there. On Herro’s burner account on Instagram, he shared a statistic on the NBA’s bottom-10 players in mid-range field goal percentage, with Antetokounmpo at No. 1 (26.8%) and Adebayo at No. 10 (35.9%).
Fights between current teammates have happened. Among the most recent and more infamous incidents is Draymond Green punching Jordan Poole during training camp in 2022.
Before that, Adebayo’s new teammate, Bobby Portis, punched Nikola Mirotic back when the two played for the Chicago Bulls in 2017. However, that was when they were teammates. Two ex-teammates getting into it is even rarer, and what makes this even more surreal is that this happened not too long after the deal went down.

What makes it also kind of sad is that Herro and Adebayo experienced plenty of success together, though it had been a while since then. Both helped the Heat make surprise runs to the NBA Finals in 2020 and 2023, during which they also made the All-Star team.
It’s fair to assume this will come up when the Heat and Bucks meet during the 2026-27 season.
