Arthur Fery continued his incredible run at the Wimbledon Championships, going from accepting a wildcard to reaching the semifinals of a Grand Slam for the first time in his career. As the British tennis star made history with his straight-sets win over ninth seed Flavio Cobolli in the quarterfinals, his multi-millionaire parents were left in disbelief at his achievement.

After defeating fellow wildcard Grigor Dimitrov in five sets in the fourth round, Fery arrived in his Wednesday’s Wimbledon quarterfinal against Cobolli looking to become just the second wildcard to make the semifinals of the Grand Slam after Goran Ivanišević.
Backed by the British crowd, Fery did exactly that as he stunned French Open finalist Cobolli in straight sets. The 6-4, 7-6(4), 6-0 win helped the 23-year-old set up a semifinal clash against recently crowned French Open champion Alexander Zverev.
During his Wimbledon run, Fery has been cheered on by his parents, who were left astounded by his historic achievement on Wednesday. His mother, Olivia, is a former tennis player herself. She also used to work for the Lawn Tennis Association, the governing body of tennis in the United Kingdom.
Fery’s father, Loïc, is regarded as one of the most successful businessmen in France, with a reported net worth of more than $300 million in 2023. He started his career as a finance trader in Asia before returning to France to work with multiple big firms. He also previously owned the French soccer club, FC Lorient. He still remains the team’s president.

Meanwhile, Fery reflected on his remarkable run at the 2026 Wimbledon Championships following his win over Cobolli. The Stanford alum said he would try to keep playing as he has so far, aiming to take down Zverev in the semifinals.
“I’ve never been in this position before. I guess it’s gonna be the first time. We’ll just figure it out as we go. I’m going to keep going. I’ve been doing a great job for the past 10 days. Just going to do the same thing and see where that takes me,” he said.
Fery is set for a dramatic rise up the ATP rankings thanks to his run at SW19. Amid his run to the semifinals, Fery will move up 78 spots to World No. 36 even if he loses to Zverev in the semifinals. However, if he manages to overcome Zverev, a dream Wimbledon final could await against either World No. 1 and defending champion Jannik Sinner or seven-time champion Novak Djokovic.
