To most sports fans, Will Compton isn’t a household name. He arrived in the NFL as an undrafted free agent and somehow managed to carve out a nice career as a linebacker spanning nine seasons from 2013 to 2021.
Compton only played for three teams: Washington, Tennessee Titans, and the Raiders (in both Oakland and Las Vegas). Yet, he managed to start 40 of his 92 appearances. He was also on the New Orleans Saints’ squad but released without playing.
If anything, he’s done more to make a name for himself since retiring from the league (though his playing career no doubt set him up nicely post-retirement). Now, Compton can commonly be heard on the “Bussin’ With The Boys” podcast, which he co-created with Taylor Lewan. Compton has become known for being a bit of a goofball, or in other words, he loves to make light of comical situations.
Will Compton Jokes About Travis Kelce Being Teammates with Refs
One of Compton’s recent bits included acting like he was bothered by not being one of the many who received an invite to Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s wedding. TMZ ran with Compton’s previous comments, in which he said he jokingly said he was “flabbergasted.”
Of course, TMZ wasn’t alone. Others ran to the printing press too.
Funnily enough, Compton revealed that he even had a couple of media outlets directly contact him about going on record with any displeasure toward Kelce.
Compton thought those requests and the general response were pure “insanity.” But of course, as a response, Compton didn’t waste the opportunity to make yet another joke, this time at Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs’ expense while roping Dean Blandino into the picture too.

“I was just busting balls. Of course Dean Blandino was invited to the wedding. He’s practically a teammate of Travis’s being a former NFL Referee,” Compton wrote on his X handle.
Flabbergasted at how many people took this seriously
A couple media outlets reached out directly, asking if I’d go on record, if I’ve spoken w Travis, if there are others that are upset
Insanity!!! 😂😂

In a previous post, Compton had said, “Don’t think I’ve ever seen Dean Blandino at Tight End University,” while referring to the reports of him being flabbergasted over no invite to Kelce-Taylor wedding.
While Kelce has as great a sense of humor as anyone, he may not appreciate the notion that the Chiefs get any kind of special treatment from referees. Actually, Blandino ran the league’s officiating department from 2013–17 and is now Fox’s on-air rules analyst.
Then again, Compton doesn’t make a living off being friendly to Kelce; he’s just doing what he now does best: make comments that stir people up while laughing all the way to the bank.
