Throughout his 10-year NFL career, Marcellus Wiley became known for rushing the quarterback. In 2001, he became a Pro Bowler after recording a career-high 13 sacks with the then-San Diego Chargers. He also had stints with the Dallas Cowboys, Buffalo Bills, and Jacksonville Jaguars.
When Wiley retired from the NFL following the 2006 season, he carved out a new career as a sports analyst and became a regular on ESPN. While Wiley is no longer at ESPN, he has written a book and has a YouTube channel with nearly 600,000 subscribers.
More recently, Wiley was arrested, and he’s facing some serious allegations from his wife. On Tuesday, the former NFL star responded.
Marcellus Wiley Vehemently Denies Wife’s Disturbing Allegations
Over the weekend, Wiley was arrested on a domestic battery charge after allegedly poking his wife, Annemarie Wiley, in the cheek and threatening to kill her. Then, in her court filings, Annemarie made more shocking allegations against Marcellus.
She alleges that Marcellus raped her four times and physically abused her repeatedly over more than a decade. She filed for divorce from Wiley while also filing a petition for a restraining order.
On Tuesday, Wiley took to his social media profile on X to respond, while acknowledging that the couple is getting divorced.
“I love my children with everything I am. My highest priority has always been protecting them and preserving the relationship they have with both of their parents,” he wrote. “Because of the public allegations made against me by Annemarie, I have been forced to respond with evidence rather than emotion. More importantly, I owe it to my children to truthfully document what they and I have endured.”
Wiley goes on to “address the lies” his wife has spread about him. The 51-year-old claims that he’s collected a heap of evidence, including “videos, photographs, text messages, emails” that prove her accusations are “baseless” and paint a different picture.

“I must address the lies Annemarie has told about me by telling the truth about her and our marriage,” he wrote. “I have compiled videos, photographs, text messages, emails, and other evidence that directly contradicts those baseless claims and provides a factual record of our family and the events leading to this unfortunate divorce.
“That record includes evidence of Annemarie’s repeated infidelity — including an affair with her pregnant friend’s husband — serious and damaging parenting failures, a ‘voodoo spell’ she cursed over my family, as well as fans she claimed ‘hated her’ from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, along with many, many other unflattering documented events.”

Wiley goes as far as to allege that his wife has “lost her mind.”
“To be frank, many friends, family members, and fans have opined that after she was kicked off The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, she lost her mind! Unfortunately, I must agree,” he wrote.
Wiley admits he never wanted things to go this far, particularly when it comes to things playing out in the public eye.
“I never wanted my family’s issues and struggles to become public for any reason, including divorce leverage. But I unfortunately knew this day was inevitable,” Wiley wrote. “I was willing to endure anything — even hell itself — if it meant being with my children every single day. I am their hero, and now I am fighting to make sure the positive and real image they know of me is the one that endures.”
In the end, Wiley says he plans to fight his wife’s allegations in court.
“I am prepared to address these allegations and related matters through the legal process and with evidence,” he concluded. “My focus remains on my children, my integrity, and the truth. Thanks for your understanding.”
Back in April, four women filed a claim accusing Wiley of sexual assault. Wiley has since denied those allegations, too.
