Gauff comes from a sporting background, with her father, Corey, playing college basketball at Georgia State and her mother, Candi, competing in track and field at Florida State.

Both her parents played a key role in her stunning rise in tennis, quitting their full-time jobs and even moving the entire family from Atlanta to Florida to help her train.

Her father served as her coach for much of her early career before stepping back in 2023. Gauff also receives emotional support and motivational messages from her mother, who travels to tournaments around the world to cheer for her daughter.

Pegula comes from a completely different background, with her parents being the billionaire owners of the Buffalo Bills in the NFL and the Buffalo Sabers in the NHL.

The New York-born tennis star’s father, Terry, started his career as a petroleum engineer and amassed a fortune via investments in fracking. He purchased the Sabers in 2011 and placed the winning bid to buy the Bills three years later.

Terry founded East Resources and sold the company to Shell for $4.7 billion in 2010. According to Celebrity Net Worth, he has a net worth of $8 billion.

His wife, Kim, was born in South Korea but moved to the United States as a child. They met at a restaurant in 1991 and got married two years later.
