“This thing had run its course,” Wright said. “And I think there were just enough unnecessary… shots at (Jayson) Tatum, that it was not tenable.”

”The thing that went under the radar for a lot of people…the comment he made that I thought was the most damaging…was not on the Twitch stream,” Wright continued.
“It was right after Game 7, I believe at the press conference, when he was asked about Tatum not playing. He said, ‘It’s really tough when you find out 30 minutes before the game that JT’s not going.’ When that was just not true.”
These subtle jabs were untenable, as per Wright, and solidified the reality that the Celtics’ legendary wing duo could no longer coexist.
