Dianna Russini’s chances of ever returning to being an NFL reporter are being burned by the day. Now that we know the actual details regarding her traffic stop are different than what she previously let on, it makes some wonder what else the former NFL insider lied about.
This time, there’s visual proof via video that she made up the story about her FaceTiming an NFL head coach to get out of a ticket. She never FaceTimed anyone; she simply showed a text message exchange involving her and Minnesota Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell because the officer was a fan of the Purple and Gold.
So, can she even be trusted? What else has Russini lied about?
NFL Podcaster Questions Russini’s Integrity
Recently, 312 Sports’ Dan Bernstein teed off on Russini, questioning her integrity as a whole.
“Just to add to whatever the whole incident and the series of subsequent incidents and revelations has been, that you now have somebody who clearly was having an affair with a coach for a long time and now in multiple cases, whether it was happening to rescue somebody from a burning car when she was just looking after the person’s dog, or now specifically on record saying that something happened that didn’t happen, you can’t trust her to report anymore.”

Right, which is why many within the industry are saying she’ll never come close to reporting on the sport again. After all, it’s tough to try to start putting the toothpaste back into the tube after everyone watched it all squeeze out before their eyes.
“Can you go back to saying, ‘My observations, my description of things that are happening is reliable and ethical?'” Bernstein asked.
“It’s like, that train’s left. I don’t know that you get that back. It’s just odd. It just add it to the list of things that are untrustworthy, not what they seem, somehow strange.”
The podcast proceeded to point out how it’s impossible for anyone to understand which parts Russini may have fabricated in her previous reports. They use that same angle to point out why it would be tough for anyone to put her back in that spotlight and take her word as gospel again.
It’s a drastic turn of events, considering just months ago she was viewed as one of the most insightful insiders in the sport. Now, she’d have an extremely difficult time getting hired to perform a task she spent years perfecting.
