‘Don’t Get Distracted’ — NFL Podcaster Highlights 3 Red Flags ‘Nobody Will Talk About’ in Dianna Russini-Mike Vrabel Scandal

NFL podcaster Tony Farmer exposes three red flags that the mainstream media is ignoring amid the Dianna Russini-Mike Vrabel scandal.

Former NFL insider Dianna Russini’s troubles don’t seem to be ending anytime soon. In the aftermath of the Mike Vrabel scandal, Russini is caught up in another controversy after claiming she avoided a traffic ticket by FaceTiming an NFL head coach. However, the police bodycam footage contradicted her story, proving that her anecdote was a lie.

However, NFL podcaster Tony Farmer doesn’t want this situation to distract from what really matters, highlighting three unanswered questions from the Russini-Vrabel scandal.

Tony Farmer Highlights 3 Unanswered Questions in Dianna Russini-Mike Vrabel Scandal

Taking to his X handle, Farmer urged fans and media members to look past this latest noise and focus on the bigger issues that are being ignored by the mainstream media.

“Virtually nobody will talk about the fact that Russini was a COTY voter and those implications. NYT wrote 5,000 words and didn’t mention that. Easily could have called their colleagues at AP,” Farmer wrote.

Russini’s role as an NFL awards voter hasn’t been talked about enough, including by The New York Times in its bombshell report. After Vrabel won the NFL’s Coach of the Year award, the Associated Press hasn’t released Russini’s ballot or commented on her future as a voter. There’s an obvious conflict of interest given Russini’s alleged relationship with Vrabel.

Next up, Farmer highlighted Russini’s resurfaced deleted tweet from last offseason’s free-agency period, when she prematurely linked offensive tackle Morgan Moses to the Patriots.

“Dianna Russini’s Morgan Moses deleted tweet was never investigated and if it had been, the NFL might have found all this in 2025,” Farmer wrote.

One day before the legal tampering period began, she posted a graphic that showed Moses alongside a Patriots logo, and then deleted it. Fellow writers called it out at the time and wondered if it was evidence that New England was tampering.

Russini blamed her photo editor at the time, but given the alleged affair between her and Vrabel, her mistake is even more interesting in hindsight. Did she have inside knowledge from Vrabel that Moses was planning to sign with New England? And if so, is it because the Patriots were in contact with the free agent before the legal tampering period opened?

If the league had investigated this at the time when media members first flagged it, the entire scandal may have come to light sooner or gone down differently.

Lastly, Farmer set his sights on ESPN’s NFL insider Adam Schefter, whom he has called out due to a conflict of interest of his own.

“Adam Schefter owns a piece of a sports betting site with Vrabel’s boss Robert Kraft – and he’s not tweeted the word Russini since the Sedona photos dropped,” Farmer wrote.

“Don’t get distracted.”

This selective coverage has sparked immense skepticism regarding how the industry’s heaviest hitters are handling the fallout.

While the internet is now focused on the traffic-stop footage, Farmer argues the real narrative remains buried. Russini resigned from The Athletic in April, and there’s an ongoing investigation into her reporting.
