‘WAYYY More Exciting Than Tom Brady’ — EX-NFL LB Refuses To Apologize After Bold Cristiano Ronaldo Claim

Ex-NFL LB Emmanuel Acho doubles down on his bold Tom Brady-Cristiano Ronaldo take, which sparked debate among NFL fans.

Right now, the United States is under World Cup fever, and Portugal’s latest statement win sparked a bold debate among NFL fans.

It all started when former NFL linebacker Emmanuel Acho named Cristiano Ronaldo as more exciting than one of America’s greatest athletes, Tom Brady. Now, Acho has shown no interest in backing down from that opinion.

Emmanuel Acho Doubles Down on Tom Brady Take

On Tuesday, Ronaldo delivered another unforgettable performance and scored twice in a dominant 5-0 victory over Uzbekistan, strengthening his country’s World Cup hopes.

In the process, he became the first player ever to score in six different World Cups.

Shortly afterward, Acho reacted with a strong statement, declaring, “Cristiano Ronaldo is WAYYY more exciting than Tom Brady.”

After mimicking Ronaldo’s famous “Siuuu” celebration, he explained his take.

“The more exciting player is Cristiano Ronaldo, obviously,” Acho added on his “Speakeasy” show. “Super-human speed, super-human vertical leap, especially when he was back in his prime. Right foot or left foot, it doesn’t matter. Free kicks or penalty kicks, it doesn’t matter. Cristiano Ronaldo was an absolute specimen and is an absolute specimen from a freakazoid athletic standpoint. That was makes him so special. That is what makes him so exciting. Two goals today, he got it done. If you’re talking excitement, he supersedes that of Tom Brady… I don’t think it gets more exciting than what Cristiano Ronaldo does.”

However, Acho later doubled down on his take on social media.

“I’m drunk off the World Cup and I won’t apologize. 😤😤,” Acho wrote on X.

His argument does have merit, as Ronaldo now sits at 975 career goals and continues to produce at an age when most stars have long retired. At 41, he also became Portugal’s outright leading World Cup scorer and remains the only player to find the net in six separate tournaments.

Still, NFL fans may see the debate differently. Brady delivered the same kind of must-watch moments throughout his legendary career. Of course, Brady’s seven Super Bowl victories remain the headline achievement of his career. No player in NFL history has matched that total, and remarkably, many franchises have not either.

On top of that, Brady collected five Super Bowl MVP awards, another record that highlights how often he delivered on the biggest stage.

Now, many can argue his team also played a crucial role in this record. However, one record speaks directly to his ability to elevate different players.

The former quarterback threw touchdown passes to 98 separate receivers during his career. Nobody else has approached that mark. Drew Brees is the closest with 74, while Russell Wilson and Vinny Testaverde each sit at 70.

That kind of production across multiple eras and rosters shows just how dynamic Brady remained. Meanwhile, his longevity created another level of history.

During his 18th NFL season, Brady captured his third regular-season MVP award at age 40. That achievement made him the oldest player ever to win a league MVP across the NFL, NBA, NHL, and MLB. Only Barry Bonds has also claimed an MVP award at 40 years old among those four major leagues.

Then, Brady raised the bar again after joining the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He earned Super Bowl MVP honors at 43 years old, making him the oldest player to win a championship-round MVP across the NFL, NBA, NHL, and MLB. And the list goes on.

Acho’s excitement over Ronaldo is easy to understand. Even Brady himself praised Ronaldo. Still, one passionate World Cup reaction does not diminish Brady’s place among the greatest athletes ever, regardless of the sport being discussed.
