No Napheesa Collier, no problem, because the Minnesota Lynx and Olivia Miles continue to ball out.
Miles’ numbers on Monday night against the Portland Fire helped her surpass Caitlin Clark and tie Paige Bueckers in the league’s record books. The Lynx had a comfortable outing against the Portland Fire on Monday, winning 107-74.
The No. 2 pick out of TCU, Miles needed just 23 minutes on the floor to secure herself a spot in the WNBA history books.
Rookie Phenom Olivia Miles Surpasses Caitlin Clark in Record Time
Miles entered Monday sitting on 242 points and 77 assists. She hit the required scoring threshold effortlessly, finishing with 12 points, 4 rebounds, and 5 assists.
While this stat line was modest in comparison to her early-season explosions, the stat line made her the joint-fastest player to hit those specific numbers.
Miles surged ahead of Indiana Fever star Clark to share the record with Dallas Wings guard Bueckers, who achieved the exact same feat last year.
Olivia Miles has leapfrogged @CaitlinClark22 and become the joint-fastest player to reach 250+ points and 50 assists milestone. She is now tied with @paigebueckers1, who achieved this feat last year.

“The Spectacle” possesses a natural feel for pace and knows exactly when to push the tempo, making her one of the crucial engines helping the Lynx off to a flyer.
Miles dropped 28 points on the Golden State Valkyries in a narrow 87-84 victory earlier this month. A few nights later, she carved up the Dallas Wings for 24 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists in a 100-76 rout.
Her fiery run continued as she posted a career-high 29 points in the narrow 100-97 loss to the Las Vegas Aces on Saturday.
Lynx head coach Cheryl Reeve knew what they were in for when they drafted Miles.
Speaking to the media after the win against Portland on Monday, Reeve detailed the “intention” behind drafting Miles.
“Going back to high school, you know, if you just watch her [Miles] and her vision and just seeing things before people see it,” Reeve said.
“The velocity that she throws her passes… she’s special,” Reeve continued. “… Real credit to Liv. The humility, the curiosity, every game she wants to know exactly what we know, and then she can go apply it.”
Averaging 18.1 points, 5.9 assists, and 5.0 rebounds in 14 games this season, Miles has continued to justify the franchise’s draft decision.
Next up, the Lynx pack their bags for a Wednesday night road clash with the Los Angeles Sparks. Slowing down Miles has proven practically impossible through the first month of the season, and the Sparks’ defensive unit is in for a test.
