Joe Rogan Calls Steelers Legend Terry Bradshaw ‘Silly’ for Shrugging Off Stem Cells

Tuesday’s two-and-a-half-hour “Joe Rogan Experience” installment featured many interesting discussions between Rogan and Pittsburgh Steelers legend Terry Bradshaw. However, what stood out most from the show was the pair’s disagreement over the effectiveness of stem cells in treating injuries.

Bradshaw started by mentioning his troubling hip that he had injected, to which Rogan asked whether he injected it with stem cells. The former quarterback, though, explained why he doesn’t believe stem cells are effective.

“I don’t believe in stem cells,” he said. “I know too many people — based on people who did stem cells — and what happened? They went back and did it again. Then what happened? They went back and did it again… Because it didn’t work.”

Rogan questioned the types of injuries Bradshaw’s acquaintances went back for, adding that it’s understandable it isn’t a quick process.

Joe Rogan Recaps summarized the debate on X, captioning the video clip:

“Joe Rogan gets in serious argument with NFL legend Terry Bradshaw over if stem cells actually work… ROGAN: ‘Stem cells absolutely work.’… BRADSHAW: ‘I don’t believe in stem cells.’… ROGAN: ‘I had a full length rotator cuff tear so I tried some stem cell therapy. Within 6 months it was completely healed. The tear didn’t even exist on an MRI anymore.’… BRADSHAW: ‘You had baby Jesus in your pocket.’… ROGAN: ‘No man, I had science. It works.'”

Stem-cell treatment for injuries is generally intended to support tissue repair rather than simply mask symptoms. In many clinical approaches, stem cells, taken from the patient’s own bone marrow or fat tissue, are injected near the injured area.

The cells can release signaling molecules that reduce inflammation and encourage new blood vessel growth and, in some situations, contribute directly to rebuilding damaged tissue.

Bradshaw, however, wasn’t convinced.

“BRADSHAW: ‘Everyone that does stem cell therapy ends up having to go back to do it again. They keep going back because it’s not working.’… ROGAN: ‘You’d be silly to ignore breakthrough science like this. There’s a reason people travel all across the world for this stuff. Stem cells work.'”

Rogan is a big advocate of alternative healing methods, and his belief in stem cells is just one of them, especially after it helped him with his shoulder.
