Maxx Crosby, who is on a three-year, $106.5M contract with the Las Vegas Raiders (according to Spotrac), was among the most discussed names in this year’s offseason after he was basically shipped to the Baltimore Ravens a few months ago. While that deal did not go through, there are a few teams in the league that can benefit from the star edge rusher.
Despite being one of the most important players in the Raiders’ locker room, the franchise could be open to lucrative offers and to trading the star DE. A lot has changed since then for Crosby, especially with his $29 million salary becoming fully guaranteed in the year 2027.
Cowboys Named As Potential Suitor for Maxx Crosby
June has started with a few exciting trades like A.J. Brown going to the New England Patriots and Myles Garrett heading to the Los Angeles Rams.
Speaking about more such potential shake-ups, ESPN analyst Dan Graziano shared his thoughts on Crosby potentially finding a home with an NFC East franchise.
Graziano predicted that Crosby might start the season with his current team; however, he might catch Jerry Jones’s interest around August.
“Crosby already got traded this offseason. Well, sort of. He was headed to Baltimore for a pair of first-round draft picks until the Ravens backed out over medical concerns regarding his surgically repaired left knee,” Graziano wrote. “I wouldn’t expect Crosby trade talk to heat up again until he gets on a field and shows he’s healthy. And from everything I’ve been told, that could be August or later.”
“Crosby might stick with the Raiders all year at this point, but if he’s going to get traded at all, we’re probably looking at something in-season ahead of the deadline,” Graziano added. “If a team such as the Cowboys, Bills, Bears, or Patriots finds itself in contention and in need of an impact pass rusher, things could get interesting here again.”
Crosby played in all 15 games in the 2025 NFL season and secured 73 total tackles, two forced fumbles, and one interception, along with 10.0 sacks. According to PFSN’s EDGE Impact Metric, he posted an impact score of 95.3 last season, ranking second in the league.

The Cowboys have failed to land some players that could’ve helped the franchise, including Nakobe Dean, Devin Lloyd, Quay Walker, Azeez Al-Shaair, and Jordyn Brooks, making the potential Crosby trade in the middle of the season an exciting one.
Cowboys and other teams have about five months until the NFL trade deadline, two of which will be spent in the middle of the season.
