Aaron Donald’s Wife Shares 3-Word Reaction

“Y’all are hilarious,” Erica Donald tweeted Tuesday afternoon, seemingly reacting to the speculation circulating on social media.

Specifically, retired NFL punter turned analyst, Pat McAfee, was one of the first to stir the pot on The Pat McAfee Show. “Is that the greatest defensive line in the history of ball?” McAfee asked about a potential Donald-Garrett team-up in LA.

Shortly after, McAfee shared on X that he had reached out to Donald directly, suggesting the former Rams superstar may be seriously considering it.

“I reached out to @AaronDonald97 this morning.. According to source(s) it for sure got him thinking.. He said he’s 35 and he’s gotta see if that fire can light backup.. Aaron Donald and Myles Garret playing together with the Rams would be INSANE #PMSLive.”

Tuesday afternoon, during the Rams media session, head coach Sean McVay was asked about Donald potentially unretiring, to which he responded, “If he’s interested, there is no question… I bet you he could still do it at a pretty high clip.”

NFL Insider Jordan Schultz continued to add fuel to the fire, sharing a text he received from Donald himself: “I’m for sure flirting with the idea. Helluva an opportunity with the Super Bowl in SoFi this year. If I can find the fire, it’s a possibility.”

Donald last took the playing field in 2023, recording 53 total tackles, 8.0 sacks, and 16 tackles for loss. He was named to both the Pro Bowl and the All-Pro 1st-team, while ranking 1st among all defensive tackles with a 100.3 impact score, according to PFSN’s DT Impact Metric.

Two years later, at age 35, Donald appears to have remained in playing shape and is more than capable of returning to the field if he chooses to. He and Garrett would undoubtedly wreak havoc on opposing offenses, and Rams fans would welcome nothing more than seeing their future Hall of Famer back in Los Angeles.
