‘I Wouldn’t Even Pay $10’ — Paige Bueckers Reacts to ‘Insane’ $65,000 Auction for Her WNBA Debut Jersey

Dallas Wings' Paige Bueckers shares a hilarious reaction to her debut WNBA jersey selling for a record $64,720 at an auction.

Paige Bueckers watched her WNBA rookie threads shatter a sports memorabilia record but did not buy into her own hype, laughing off the record-breaking price tag.

MeiGray, an authenticator and retailer of game-worn, game-used, and stadium memorabilia, hammered down the winning bid of $64,720 on Friday.

The photo-matching and authentication company confirmed the sale of the game-worn jersey from Bueckers’ WNBA debut on May 16, 2025, against the Minnesota Lynx.

Paige Bueckers Reacts to Her Record-Breaking Jersey Sale

This figure broke the previous record set by A’ja Wilson, whose WNBA Finals jersey held the top spot after selling for $32,150.

Speaking to the media recently, Bueckers shook her head in amazement when asked about the massive figure. She kept her trademark dry humor intact while acknowledging the broader significance of the moment.

“That’s insane to me just thinking about it. I’m feeling very blessed that people are investing in women’s sports,” Bueckers said.

“You can see the rise in popularity, the growth in respect. I wouldn’t even pay $10 for my own jersey.”

Her No. 5 jersey was the league’s second-best seller last season, behind Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark, as collectors are now gradually viewing WNBA items as premier alternative assets.

During her anticipated professional debut against the Minnesota Lynx on May 16, the former UConn standout dropped 10 points, grabbed 7 rebounds, and dished 2 assists on 3-of-10 shooting.

Although the Wings ultimately fell 99-84 in that contest, the performance offered the first real glimpse of her eventual Rookie of the Year campaign.

“We authenticated the jersey on-site, after the game, right off Paige’s back, photo-matched it,” Barry Meisel, president of the MeiGray Group, stated. “In six months, the record has doubled, which speaks to the rocket ship that is women’s sports and the authenticated game-worn market for women’s sports.”

Besides the memorabilia hype, Bueckers’ production has been promising this season. The 24-year-old has averaged 18.3 points, 5.3 assists, and 3.7 rebounds in nine games.

Her offensive efficiency continues to anchor a highly potent Dallas attack, which looks like a legitimate threat to make a deep postseason run after winning just 10 games last season.

The Wings just secured a dominant 79-56 victory over the Seattle Storm on Monday night and now sit at 6-3 overall. Bueckers flirted with a triple-double against Seattle as she dropped 10 points, 9 rebounds, and 7 assists in just 24 minutes of action.

The Wings hit the road next to face the Los Angeles Sparks at Crypto.com Arena this Friday night, and if there’s anything common between Dallas’ run and the league’s visibility, it’s the growing momentum.
