‘HOLD THAT TIGER’ — CFB World Reacts As Ed Orgeron and Lane Kiffin Push To Flip 5-Star Easton Royal

College football fans react as five-star Texas commit Easton Royal takes a massive recruiting visit to Lane Kiffin's LSU with Ed Orgeron.

It seems Steve Sarkisian’s troubles are mounting. Five-star Easton Royal has been committed to Sarkisian and the Texas Longhorns since November 2025, but his recent visit to Baton Rouge is causing massive surges, all triggered by Lane Kiffin and Ed Orgeron’s pull.

College Football World Reacts to Easton Royal’s LSU Visit

Royal, on his visit, shared visuals of himself posing with Orgeron, captioning it, “Geaux tigers.” Later, images of him doing photoshoots in LSU gear in Tiger Stadium also flooded the internet. The reactions were instant.

Amusingly, Royal could also be seen in LSU’s track uniform, prompting 247Sports’ Andre Champagne to write, “Easton Royal now taking pictures in the #LSU track uniform with wide receivers coach George McDonald Dual-sport athlete coming? 👀”

Tingle & Co’s X handle commented, “Easton Royal in that OBJ #3 is going to hit different man.”

LSU Odyssey’s Lonn Phillips Sullivan replied, “HOLD THAT TIGER.”

It’s not just the LSU staff that is making inroads, but also the LSU roster. Five-star LSU DT Lamar Brown posted an Instagram story and said, “You know you ain’t leaving the state.”

Similarly, the No. 1 TE in the 2027 class, Ahmad Hudson, commented on his Instagram story, “now flip foo.”

Royal is a consensus five-star prospect, recognized by Rivals as the No. 1 wide receiver in the 2027 cycle and the No. 4 player overall nationally.

Standing at 5-foot-11 and weighing a sturdy 200 pounds, Royal pairs a refined physical frame with terrifying, track-star speed. As a high school sophomore, he clocked a blistering 10.3-second 100-meter dash.

That world-class acceleration translated seamlessly onto the gridiron during his junior campaign, where he absolutely torched Louisiana defenses. Royal hauled in 53 receptions for 1,151 yards and 17 touchdowns, averaging a staggering 21.7 yards per catch.

Now that Royal has made his third trip to Baton Rouge in less than eight weeks, it might generate significant anxiety in Austin. The Tigers rolled out the red carpet, utilizing Orgeron’s unique gravitational pull to show Royal exactly how he would be utilized as the crown jewel of their future offense.

Texas is not going to let a talent like Royal walk away without an elite-tier fight. Sarkisian’s offense has proven to be a wide receiver haven, producing consecutive first-round NFL Draft talent and maximizing vertical threats. Texas still holds Royal’s verbal pledge and will get the crucial final word when he visits Austin for his official visit on June 19.

It remains to be seen how Texas and Sarkisian deal with this situation, and whether Royal flips his commitment to the Tigers, given their might, both financially and with roster and staff.
