‘Avs Are In Big Friggen Trouble’ — NFL World Reacts As Golden Knights Take 2-0 Lead Over Avalanche in NHL WCF

On Friday night, a number of NFL players watched and reacted as the Colorado Avalanche went down 2-0 to the Vegas Golden Knights.

The NFL season is months away, so many pro football players turn their attention to other sports in the offseason. For instance, take what’s happening in the NHL’s Stanley Cup Playoffs between the Vegas Golden Knights and Colorado Avalanche.

With their 3-1 win in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals, the Golden Knights will return to Las Vegas with a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven series. Vegas was down 2-0 entering the third period, but three third-period goals gave the Golden Knights a big road win.

NFL Players Share Their Thoughts on Golden Knights-Avalanche Series

“Bussin’ With The Boys,” the NFL podcast hosted by Taylor Lewan and Will Compton, had some thoughts on what happened on Friday night at Bell Arena in Denver, Colo.

The account posted a video clip of the final seconds in the Golden Knights’ victory on Friday night. After the Avalanche pulled their goaltender, an empty-net goal sealed the deal for Vegas.

The account wrote on X: “VEGAS IS HEADED BACK HOME WITH A 2-0 SERIES LEAD”

NFL veteran and Super Bowl 50 champion Tyler Polumbus was also watching the game and had some thoughts about the Avalanche’s defeat.

“Well boys and girls, the Avs are in big friggen trouble,” Polumbus posted on X. “Not giving up hope but if Cale isn’t back for game 3 this season might go down as one of the most disappointing of all time. Never had more confidence in a team to win a championship than this one….”

Phillip Lindsay, the former NFL running back who also hosts “The Drive” on Denver Sports 104.3 The Fan, obviously wanted the Avalanche to even up the series on Friday night.

As Lindsay was watching the game, he posted on X, “Keep peppering Carter Hart.. He will crack, I can see it in his eyes ! #GoAvsGo”

Lindsay, though, wasn’t through in sharing some other thoughts, focusing on Avalanche goaltender Scott Wedgewood’s play between the pipes for Colorado.

Lindsay also posted on X, “You have got to be kidding me Wedgewood… common man…. #GoAvsGo”

The Avalanche hope to get a victory in the Western Conference Finals tonight at 8 p.m. ET, when the puck drops between Colorado and Las Vegas at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Avalanche fans will be rooting for their team to come through while watching the game on ESPN.
