Coco Gauff, Jannik Sinner & More: Italian Open Semifinal & Final Match Details

Top-seeded home favorite Sinner will look to finish the job at Campo Centrale against Medvedev. On Friday, their semifinal clash was unexpectedly suspended at night due to heavy rain, halting the match just as it was reaching its peak, with Sinner leading the deciding third set 6-2, 5-7, 4-2.

The world No. 1, who continues to build on his historic record with five consecutive ATP Masters 1000 titles, has electrified the home crowds all week with many straight-set victories. However, Medvedev, a former Rome champion, has also grinded through a demanding draw to reach the final four.

Following that semifinal, the women’s singles championship match will take center stage. Third seed Gauff will face seventh seed Svitolina in a clash of contrasting journeys and mentalities.

Gauff has been tactically locked in throughout the tournament, punching her ticket to the final with hard-fought wins over Solana Sierra, Iva Jovic, 19-year-old Madrid runner-up Mirra Andreeva, and Sorana Cîrstea, who beat world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka.

Svitolina has also been an absolute force this week, coming with a straight-set victory over Hailey Baptiste (6-1, 6-2), a comeback win against former Rome champion Elena Rybakina in the quarterfinals (2-6, 6-4, 6-4), knocking out former world No. 1 Iga ÅšwiÄ…tek 6-4, 2-6, 6-2 in the semis.

Other big names in action on Saturday include Jessica Pegula and Mirra Andreeva in women’s doubles (opposite teams), alongside men’s doubles pairings like Marcel Granollers and Horacio Zeballos, and the Italian duo of Simone Bolelli and Andrea Vavassori.
