The New England Patriots were raked over the coals after putting up a Mother's Day post in light of head coach Mike Vrabel's off-the-field issues.

The New England Patriots decided to put up a social media post wishing mothers a Happy Mother’s Day on Sunday. But the timing of it isn’t sitting well with the public.

In fact, as rumors continue to swirl around Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel and NFL reporter Dianna Russini, some people considered the team’s post a bit tone deaf.

Patriots Get Roasted for Mother’s Day Post Amid Mike Vrabel-Dianna Russini Scandal

One influencer, after taking note of the Patriots’ post on X, wrote, “This might be the most tone deaf, out of touch, social media team in history.”

Russini and Vrabel’s relationship has been the talk of the NFL and sports world ever since photos of the two at an Arizona resort were published by the New York Post. Recently, new details have emerged, with TMZ and others also reporting on the alleged relationship.

Austin Stanley, co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of AtoZ Sports, chimed in as well Stanley posted on X, “The person who sent this tweet will get harsher punishment than the head coach.”

One influencer couldn’t believe the Patriots posted the message.

Another influencer actually shouted out the social media manager, posting on X: “This is absolutely insane for you guys to post rn lmfao. Bravo to your social media manager.”

One influencer defended the Patriots, posting on X: “What are they supposed to do just never post anything virtuous or wholesome ever again because it’s off-brand?”

Another user called out how the Patriots have handled the Vrabel-Russini scandal by writing on X, “Y’all are just trolling yourselves at this point.”

Some accounts just reacted to the post with a funny meme, including RedditCFB’s account:

Tony Farmer, who hosts the LastMenStanding podcast, posted on X, “I haven’t looked through all the comments yet, but I can’t imagine it’s going to be pretty.”

Jack Kennedy of Barstool Sports shared a funny meme as well, showing the clip of LeBron James telling Alperen Åžengün, “You the only one that can’t say that.”

Finally, Garret Greenlee, who runs the Football Analysis account on YouTube, also shared a few photos while offering up one word to his post. Greenlee posted on X, “Comments.”

It remains to be seen if the Patriots will take down their Mother’s Day post.

One thing is for sure, though: The Vrabel-Russini scandal isn’t going away anytime soon, especially since new information and resurfaced posts seem to surface every single day.
