‘Those Are Possibilities’ — Quinn Hughes’ Agent Puts Cards on the Table Over Rumors of 2030 Reunion With Luke and Jack Hughes

In today’s NHL, star players rarely get the chance to control both their future and the league’s biggest headlines at the same time. But the Hughes brothers might be heading toward exactly that.

Quinn Hughes eventually joining brothers Jack and Luke on the same team once sounded like a fun offseason fantasy, but it could very well veer into the real of possibility. And now, comments from Quinn Hughes’ agent have added even more fuel to the conversation.

Could the Hughes Brothers Reunite by 2030?

Quinn Hughes is currently entering the fifth year of his six-year, $47.1 million contract and will be eligible to sign an extension on July 1.

Since being traded to the Minnesota Wild in December 2025, he has been outstanding. He set a franchise record for points by a defenseman in a season with 53, and has become a key reason behind the Wild’s impressive run this season.

Meanwhile, brothers Jack Hughes and Luke Hughes remain with the New Jersey Devils, a team that reportedly came close to acquiring Quinn in December before Minnesota ultimately landed him.

The idea of all three brothers eventually playing together has been discussed for years, especially since the Hughes brothers have openly admitted it would be a dream scenario. Naturally, that has sparked nonstop trade and free-agency speculation.

Now, Quinn’s agent, Pat Brisson, has addressed the growing buzz surrounding a possible reunion.

“Between brothers, there’s always so many conversations like what about this, and what about that,” Brisson said. “But we haven’t really had anything specific about this one, perhaps. Those are possibilities, I’m not even gonna deny the fact. But when you have three brothers getting together during the offseason, we have a lot of funny conversations about a lot of funny stuff.”

He added that all three brothers are special talents who “move the needle” and hinted that the coming months could be very interesting.

At the moment, Quinn is reportedly leaning toward signing a three-year extension with Minnesota this summer once he becomes eligible on July 1. That detail is important because it aligns perfectly with Jack Hughes’ current contract timeline.

Jack signed an eight-year, $64 million extension with New Jersey that runs through the 2029-30 season, meaning he won’t become an unrestricted free agent until 2030.

If Quinn signs a three-year extension now, his deal would also expire in 2030, potentially allowing both brothers to hit the open market at the same time. With Luke Hughes already in New Jersey long term, that timing has naturally fueled speculation that Quinn could eventually join the Devils and complete the reunion.

For now, everything starts with Quinn Hughes’ extension this summer. But depending on how the next few years unfold, the path toward a Hughes brothers reunion may not be as far-fetched as it once seemed.
