The Mike Vrabel-Dianna Russini saga doesn’t appear to be slowing down anytime soon. Latest reports suggest that the duo rented a private boat together a few years back, when Russini was pregnant with her first child.
T.J. Houshmandzadeh shared his perspective on this development and said what many people were apparently already thinking.

“This wasn’t an affair,” the former Bengals star said flatly. “She was his girlfriend.”
That’s a big distinction. An affair implies secrecy and distance. A girlfriend implies something deeper, something ongoing. According to the Pro Bowl wide receiver, this was exactly that.
“They were telling each other, ‘I love you,'” he said. “That’s his girlfriend. Like, they were dating.”
If Houshmandzadeh is right, the narrative shifts entirely. This wasn’t a one-time lapse in judgment. It was a full-blown relationship between two married people who, in his words, made a deliberate choice together.
“They are both married and they chose,” he said. “Okay, you’re gonna be my lady. Yeah, you’re gonna be my man. That’s what they chose to do.”

New reporting from TMZ reveals that in June 2021, Vrabel and Russini rented a private boat together in Putnam County, Tennessee.
Just the two of them. Both signed waivers. Sources told the outlet they were cautious about photos being taken. Russini reportedly refused to take pictures with staff. Vrabel allowed one photo but asked that it not be posted publicly.
Months later, on August 7, 2021, Russini gave birth to her first son. She named him Michael. Houshmandzadeh connected those dots on air, and he did it carefully.
“The report said shortly thereafter, she gave birth,” he said.
“So please explain to me, if you gave birth shortly thereafter… I’m gonna say allegedly with this one… that might be his baby. Allegedly might be. But when you’re dating somebody this long, it wouldn’t surprise me. It wouldn’t surprise me if that’s his baby now.”
That’s a serious allegation. Russini was married to Kevin Goldschmidt at the time, whom she wed in 2020. She has not publicly addressed the paternity question.
The timeline of this story keeps expanding the further you dig. Page Six published photos last month of Vrabel and Russini embracing at the Ambiente resort in Sedona, Arizona, back in March.
They were spotted at the pool, in a hot tub, and later on a private rooftop bungalow. Both denied wrongdoing and claimed they were part of a larger group.
Then came the older photos. Page Six published images from 2020 showing the two kissing at a New York City bar. An eyewitness at the time said they were “all over each other,” and noted that Vrabel “had a ring on.”
The pressure eventually caught up to both of them. Russini deleted her social media accounts and resigned from The Athletic. Vrabel stepped away from the New England Patriots on the third day of the 2026 NFL Draft to seek counseling and focus on his family.

He admitted publicly that his “previous actions don’t meet the standards that I hold myself to.” Vrabel is still in charge of the Patriots, but that can change anytime.
Vrabel and his wife, Jen, who have been married since 1999, reportedly traveled to Park City, Utah, for an emergency marriage summit following the latest round of photos.
Meanwhile, Russini has received a standing job offer from her friend Jon “Stugotz” Weiner, who said on his podcast, “The offer holds forever.” This story started as a rumor. Then came the photos. Now comes the question nobody wants to answer.
