Joey Bosa Landing Spots in NFL Free Agency: 5 Teams to Watch As Suitors for the 5-Time Pro Bowler

With 5-time Pro Bowl edge rusher Joey Bosa still a free agent, PFSN's Jacob Infante shares the five teams that stand out as the best landing spots.

Coming out of the 2026 NFL Draft, Joey Bosa is the third-best edge rusher still available in free agency, according to PFSN’s NFL Free Agency HQ.

The five-time Pro Bowler spent last season with the Buffalo Bills after spending nine seasons with the Los Angeles Chargers, dating all the way back to their time in San Diego. He had a good year with Buffalo in 2025, ranking No. 38 among 123 qualified edge rushers with a 78.7 PFSN EDGE Impact Score.

Bosa hasn’t reached a double-digit sack total since 2021, but he’s remained a capable starter at defensive end and most recently led the NFL with 5 forced fumbles in 2025. He’ll be 31 years old in July, but edge rushers seem less affected by that age threshold of 30 years old, especially when they can preserve their energy as rotational pass rushers.

Though not a three-down starter at this stage of his career, Bosa still has plenty left in the tank. These five NFL teams would be smart to consider signing him out of free agency.

Arizona Cardinals

At this point in his career, Bosa might not want to go to a team who’s in rebuilding mode. That said, if he wants a chance at a solid payday and a starting opportunity, the Arizona Cardinals are in major need of some pass-rushing reinforcements alongside Josh Sweat off the edge.

No edge rusher outside of Sweat had more than two sacks for the Cardinals in 2025, which makes it surprising that they didn’t add anybody significant this offseason, as they haven’t signed a single veteran free agent and they didn’t use a single draft pick to address this glaring need.

Bosa wouldn’t be enough to get Arizona to compete in a loaded NFC West, but he’d provide some much-needed juice off the edge.

Chicago Bears

The Chicago Bears being tied down to Dayo Odeyingbo’s bloated contract likely played a role in their being so conservative in their approach towards adding defensive line talent to a unit that struggled rushing the passer in 2025. Their current hope appears to be that youngsters Austin Booker and Shemar Turner step up going into 2026.

However, Bosa would provide Chicago a necessary insurance policy and a high-floor contributor to their defensive rotation.

Plus, with both Odeyingbo and Turner’s ability to kick inside on passing downs as needed, having an option like Bosa could allow the Bears to run some seriously intriguing NASCAR packages on passing downs.

Green Bay Packers

After seven seasons with the team, Rashan Gary is no longer on the Green Bay Packers. This absence propels 2023 first-round pick Lukas Van Ness into their starting lineup alongside All-Pro Micah Parsons, who’s coming off a strong 2025 that ended in an unfortunate season-ending injury. That said, Van Ness is hardly a sure thing to develop into a quality starter.

Van Ness took a leap with a career-high 82.3 PFSN EDGE Impact Score in 2025, but he’s also only combined for 8.5 sacks in his three seasons with the Packers. They drafted Dani Dennis-Sutton in Round 4, but he’s a raw technician who should be strictly in backup territory as a rookie.

Bosa would give Green Bay the reliable rotational piece they lack off the edge, while serving as a much-needed insurance policy for Van Ness.

Indianapolis Colts

The Indianapolis Colts already spent plenty of money this offseason, retaining Daniel Jones and Alec Pierce for a combined average of $72.5 million per year for just the two players. But with over $26 million in cap space still left over, they might be willing to make another splash before the regular season kicks off.

Kwity Paye departed in free agency this offseason, and the Colts replaced him with Arden Key. Though Key is a solid rotational player, he’s never been a long-term, full-time starter anywhere in his journeyman career.

Behind him and Laiatu Latu, Indianapolis doesn’t have a single edge rusher who has recorded an NFL sack. There’s a chance J.T. Tuimoloau takes a leap after a disappointing rookie year, but Bosa would give the Colts the depth they need.

Seattle Seahawks

A big part of the Seattle Seahawks’ success in their path to a Super Bowl victory last season was the depth of their defensive line. They still have most of those pieces in place heading into the 2026 season, but Boye Mafe departed for Cincinnati, and they didn’t make a big enough move to warrant replacing him in the defensive line rotation.

Bosa would be an upgrade over Dante Fowler Jr., the current second-stringer who finished 68 spots lower in the EDGE Impact Score rankings last season.

Throwing the former Chargers star into the mix would keep Seattle’s defensive line operating at a high level, with talented players rushing off the edge fresh and ready to go.
